***UC Santa Cruz Transfer Decision Thread 2019***

@a1994wolf congrats!!! I’m still waiting on acceptance but I applied for the art and design major within games and playable media. Although it’s not impacted yet, it will be next year and I didn’t have any room in my schedule to add comp sci classes. How many required courses for the class were you able to fit in??

@fullogiggles Thanks! I managed to get everything listed on Assist that was articulated at my CCC, but I’ve been working on it for 4 semesters and I had to do a workaround to get the comp sci classes to avoid the one and only non-intro cs professor (who is awful). I am a little worried, though, because I was hoping to take some CS electives at Santa Cruz, but it sounds like that might be pretty difficult to get into. UCSC has been my top choice, but I think I’m going to wait and see where I get into just in case. And still considering Chico because of the price, non-impacted, and I could still minor in game design. But we’ll see.
Good luck to you!

Has anyone had to update the school with a class change since the TAU closed? My D needs to do that and cannot find a way on the portal. Wonder if anyone can help as to who to notify or how to? (She has not been notified of a decision on her application yet).

@CAtransplant Has she tried calling admissions?

@CAtransplant I think you can e-mail ucinfo@applyucsupport.net for help, or you might try calling admissions at santa cruz. If they can’t change her application directly, they can at least point her in the right direction.

@kristinpete no she hasn’t, she just made the change now and since it’s Saturday, assumed they aren’t open today? @a1944wolf thanks for that idea to email ucinfo@applyucsupport.net - someone else suggested that too so I’ve suggested to her that she do that.

Anyone else receive the Transfer Transition Award email?

@bolxons I got it earlier today :slight_smile:

What’s the Transfer Transition Award?

@CAtransplant it’s basically an scholarship for transfer students, you don’t need to commit or anything but you do fill out a short questionnaire type thing. It’s for $1200.

@bolxons ah I see, thanks. So that’s probably being sent just to those already admitted I’m guessing. My D hasn’t heard anything yet.

@bolxons my daughter received the email regarding the transfer transition award today as well.

So I just got this email:

Dear ______,

There is still time to sign up for UC Santa Cruz Transfer Student Reception on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Space is limited and reservations will close once registration is full or by Friday, April 12.

(It then gives the details of the event)

Sincerely,
Blia Yang
Director of Admissions
University of California, Santa Cruz

I noticed others in the forum got a similar email a day or two before they were accepted and a friend who went to UCSB said she was invited to an event before she was admitted as well. Sooooo you’re saying there’s a chance…

@thehotwaffle i got the same email and still have no admission decision

@flowers34 When did you receive it?

@thehotwaffle 5:08 pm

@flowers34 Hmmm… okay, thanks for the heads up!

@thehotwaffle @flowers34
Is this your first email from them regarding the invite? I haven’t heard anything from UCSC. It looks like several people who have gotten an invite of this sort were accepted shortly after. You all probably have a good chance and will hear back soon!

@fullogiggles that was the 2nd email i got on the invite! yeah i feel like there is a good chance :slight_smile:

@fullogiggles yeah this is my first email regarding the invite, hope it’s a good sign… Thanks!
