about 2 days until we have definite responses…supposedly…
Sorry so many of you have not heard back. My D tagged for psych. Will have all prerequisites completed by spring. 3.95 GPA. Honors. Went to the transfer reception BY INVITATION. EC. Graduated HS early bc of dual enrollment in CA CC and was REJECTED. I’m still at a loss. I thought the TAG was a guarantee. She’s lucky to have gotten into UCD, UCSB, UCI, UCSD and waitlisted for UCLA. But a no from SC? I don’t get it.
Wanted to add that she was told casually to appeal if she really wants to go there by someone from UCSC bc they probably made a mistake also suggesting the schools she got into were better. I guess this should make me feel better but honestly we paid the same as everyone else for the app and in my opinion she might have been a candidate for the regents so it’s disappointing to say the least. If any of you feel like you should’ve gotten in I would appeal. It seems something is off.
@julzalli if your D wants UCSC you should appeal. The fact she got in everywhere else attests to the fact that she has everything. The only thing might be if she is missing a required course specific to UCSC.
The only thing that sticks out is that precalculus/calc is required at UCSC and is only listed again at UCSB, with the note to complete as many as possible.
She has the requirements at the end of spring. Igetc too. I think she’s over it. I’m the one that’s kind of mad but I’m choosing to post bc there are many still waiting and I think there’s probably others that should be in and maybe some that don’t have other choices. She doesn’t want to appeal knowing that spot might be taken from someone else. The reception is what’s really bugging me bc she took a day off work. I called and was told without exactly telling me she was in that it was worth our while to go and that they want her there. We sat through everything and I’d say at that point SC was prob at the top of her list.
i went through the process to accept my admission but i didn’t see a place to pay for my sir? and now i can go back…
it said something about it being deferred but i guess i didnt read carefully…
So it’s April 29th still haven’t heard anything
@julzalli that makes no sense that she wouldn’t be accepted there. With or without tag . But especially with! It IS an actual guarantee. If all the requirements of the tag are fulfilled they have to accept her. If she really wants to go there have her call them and get an answer to why the tag isn’t being honored. It has to be a mistake. And for them to say oh well if you really want to come here then appeal is ludicrous. Appeal is a hassle. It’s their mistake. My daughter is accepted there and did get regents and might go there but is going to UCLAs transfer day event in mid May before deciding. To be honest I’m very put off Santa Cruz because of your story and also the fact all these people are still waiting for decisions!
Let us know if your daughter chooses one of the other great schools. UCSC’s loss.
My daughter is still waiting for UCSC here. But she was admitted to UCSD for Cognitive Science and is going to their Triton Transfer admitted student day May 11 and I think there’s a good chance she will choose to go there. Crazy that UCSC still hasn’t given out many decisions.
I still haven’t heard either … Did they forget about us??
still no decision. i seriously doubt if their system somehow forgot me
Has anyone heard anything today? I still have not.
Anyone still waiting to hear back that applied with TAG?
I sent an email to admissions and I was told my application was under review and they had no further information. SMH
Hello, I’ve been following this thread since early april. I have not received anything either. Today I had a counseling appointment and they called the ucsc admissions and said they had not reviewed my application yet. On my campus there’s still a lot of students waiting, I hope we all hear back soon.
@“ADRY!.” but isn’t tomorrow the last day to release the decision? what are they doing?
So I haven’t received a decision yet, but I did receive an email from UC TAP titled “I’ve been admitted to UC Santa Cruz. What’s next?”
Last I checked, I haven’t been accepted or denied. Is this an indication that I might get accepted? Or just more BS for prospective students?
Finally admitted this morning.
UCSC forgot about me like Kevin from home alone
