Wait listed also. gg.
sorry about the wait lists. Still nada here from UCSC.
I figure they extended the admission time so they could fill up their waitlist. What are the chances of getting admitted off the waitlist for transfers? Are there any previous year stats?
I didn’t even look over when they’ll let us know… they’re going to make us wait til mid-July. Is this a joke?
@jasonclxr you can try refusing the waitlist and appealing though I wouldn’t recommend unless you’ve got a good case. you hear back within 21 days of an appeal though so if one of the schools wrongly waitlisted you, you could try that.
@imstressin @jasonclxr
You aren’t able to appeal a waitlist decision, only a rejection.
I was just waitlisted as a sophomore transfer and my major is Sociology.
https://admissions.ucsc.edu/apply/transfer-waitlist-faq.html According to this website waitlisted transfers can appeal.
If the appeal is denied, do we lose our waitlist?
My daughter finally just got an email today from UCSC asking for her to provide syllabi for four courses she took at her current school. Assuming this is because those courses are pre-major requirements at UCSC but since she’s at a 4-year university, they want to make sure they think they articulate to their courses. They said the are [finally - my added word] reviewing her application LOL. Would have been nice if they did this sooner.
admitted for CS through TAG, GPA was around 3.78 at time of admission
lol the first thing i saw at the very top of my email was from UCSC and said “CANCELLATION” (yes, capitalized). almost had a heart attack, then learned it was just for some virtual chat thing. I thought the rollercoaster of emotions ended this morning when they had accepted me…
@jasonclxr what is ur GPA. DId you do all the major pre-major course?
I’m a sophomore transfer for Art and Design: Game Design.
GPA right now should be hovering around 3.5
Currently at UC Merced
My kid just got asked for syllabi too. I assume that’s a good thing? But who knows …
@section7forme did your kid go to a four-year college, i.e. non-community college? If so, they want to see if the courses the kid took match the ones they require. Not a bad thing, I’d say!
Yes, indeed. Y’all haven’t heard anything since she submitted her syllabi, I assume? In days this will all be over.
Nope - but she just submitted them last night (request having been on Friday).
I think it’s absolutely insane that I’m still waiting. I’ve toured other schools and gotten financial packages from them.
Just got my decision this morning
GPA 3.92, EE, out of state
Denied
Also got my decision this morning.
GPA 3.99, Biology/Ecology & Evolution, out of state & sophomore transfer (in retrospect… I haven’t taken any university-level English courses, which is one of the pre-reqs they list for transfers).
Denied
Just got my admission this morning, and like others, was alerted by an email inviting me to join the Facebook group.
Major: Linguistics
GPA: 4.0 CCC, 3.9 OOS
Major pre-reqs: No prerequisites for my major at UCSC
IGETC: Finished by the end of spring quarter
Accepted: UCSC, UCSB (TAG), UCSD, UCLA, UCB (Spring 2020)
Pending: Finally none!
Santa Cruz is special to me because I love the location, but I love the other schools I got into more [shrug]. I’ve been checking the UCSC portal every 1-2 days since March 17, and now that the saga is finally finished, and I got into all the schools I applied to (which I did not expect, given that I went to a small liberal arts school in rural Canada for my first year of college), I’m weirdly sad about being presented with five incredible options but only being able to choose one. I’ve decided on UCLA, though, so hopefully someone waitlisted can snag my spot at UCSC!
