***UC Santa Cruz Transfer Decision Thread 2019***

Thanks for all your help @mtar25 . Congratulations on getting in!

@spiritualgift with all honesty, I don’t remember when I submitted the TAU. All I remember is that I sent in my UC application like 5 minutes before the deadline lol

@DavisPls no problem, I’m sure you’ll get in soon :slight_smile:

Just saw you on the UCSB thread, I’m still pending there haha, but I’m glad I at least got in for UCSC.

I tagged and still haven’t heard anything.

Got admitted last night around 12am. Kinda shocked because my gpa is so low but I had strong essays that explained my entire situation.

Hi @thehotwaffle thank you! Here are my stats:

Accepted as a Lower-Division Transfer
Major: Proposed Cognitive Science
Received Offer on 3/20/2019 at 4:00pm
GPA: ~3.5
IGETC: Will be finished Spring '19
Prereqs: In progress

Hi @koronos Congratulations! My daughter is a transfer applicant for Cognitive Science also and is still waiting to hear, but she will be a junior in fall 2019. You said you are accepted as a lower-division transfer so does that mean you will be a sophomore in Fall 2019?

My teen just got in!

after getting an email that said “Welcome to the humanities department” and then going and checking their portal. They do not want me to post specifics and said I can give general info, such as high GPA, lots of leadership, community service hours and paid work.

@CAtransplant Yep! I’m currently in the middle of my third semester at a local community college so I’ll be transferring as a sophomore. Best of luck to your daughter!

UCSC Admissions posted on twitter but it wasn’t any new news. “Congratulations to our admitted transfer students so far! If you’re a transfer who is still waiting to hear from us, thank you for your patience. We expect to complete our transfer admissions process by April 30.”

@CAtransplant thanks for sharing!

Admitted overnight for …“Proposed Biology”…(?) Could someone explain that? Their site has a list of Undergraduate majors and then a list for Proposed majors…I don’t understand the difference.

https://registrar.ucsc.edu/enrollment/proposed-majors-list.html

3.27 cGPA
Accepted: UCSC, UCSB, UCR, UCM, Cal Poly Slo, SFSU, Sac State
Waiting for: UCSD, UCD, UCI

@kristinpete found this, might help:

https://advising.ucsc.edu/planning/your-major/index.html

It seems like you might just have to meet with a counselor to officially declare your major? I assume you met all the requirements, right?

Also CONGRATULATIONS!

@thehotwaffle Thanks! So it sounds like Pre-Biology. Yes, but courses are still in progress. I’ve completed 108 units. I’m sure that helped me a bit.

Was anyone else here admitted for “Proposed” (Major)?

I assume it means pre-. They often add that if there is a required course that must be taken at the UC.

Is anyone here a transfer applicant from a 4-year university rather than from a community college? My daughter is and I wonder if they tend to notify these students later than those from community colleges? @Ohm888 do you have any knowledge about this question?

@kristinpete Yes, I was admitted as “Proposed Psychology”. I’m not sure what it means either.

@CAtransplant sorry, I have no idea.
