I tend to agree that it’s unlikely that they would wait until mid June- mid August before clearing waitlist students. I think this is the admission office being conservative. however, my question is how do they notify cleared students and how long do you have to accept? just don’t want to miss it.

From what I’ve read in previous CC threads, your portal will change in the afternoon and then you’ll get an email either immediately or a couple hours later. I can’t remember the specific amount of time but it’s somewhere around 5-8 days you have to decide if you will commit. I also have noticed solely from CC threads that they like to release information on Mondays, so keep an eye out! But again, this is just from me reading the 2020 and 2019 waitlist pages, I have no official evidence from the office of admissions!

so from what I’ve seen, in 2020, the first admits came on may 4 (a monday), and in 2019 they came on may 10 (a friday). It gets more random the further back you go, but if they stay with what they’ve been doing recently, I figure the first rounds of admits will come out between may 4-10 (the first and second mondays in march this year). is there any confirmation that they will be using the waitlist this year? I know in past years they haven’t, or at least used it VERY sparingly

UC Riverside started admitting from their waitlist today. It’s all a big guess especially with how unusual last year was but I’d be surprised if we didn’t see a few offers from the waitlist at Santa Cruz in the next couple weeks

One of my neighbors’ son received off waitlist email last week from UCSC, major in business administration. He is still a international student status because his immigration application is still in process. He chose to go Purdue though. Good luck to every one.
I can see international students getting notified earlier. hope they get to CA kids quickly!

Has anyone gotten off the waitlist yet??
Haven’t heard anything yet. I heard UCSD sent a small wave out on April 29th.
I think the first wave will probably be either tomorrow or the 10th! we’ll just have to see and if i hear anything i’ll let y’all know right away

nothing yet! based solely on last years CC thread, i’m expecting any information to come between 4–7 pm pst IF they release info today. it could be another week or two, so i’m trying not to get my hopes up!

last year they started rolling out acceptances on the 4th, and the year before that they started on the 10th, so that’s what i’m basing my stuff off of but i truly have no idea. it sucks having to wait and just not know when we’ll hear back

Did anyone waitlisted receive notification? On another site, it says SC released one wave already.
I didn’t get anything yet and haven’t seen anyone else get in so far. Which site did you see it on?

I heard one international student got in, you can see if you scroll up a little on this thread. Not sure if they’ve hit OOS, but definitely not IS yet. I’ve tried predicting when but I was wrong so I’ve given up and am just anxiously waiting to hear lol.
