Based on posted Stats, UCR and UCM are probably your target schools right now. Get your SAT in the 1900 range and UCSC and UCI could be possible. Remember EC’s and essays will also impact your chances. Good luck

You have to be in the top 9% for the admission officers to even look at your application and that is assuming you are in california. If your out of state then honestly I dont think you have a shot at even UCM or UCR. If your in state make sure you improve that SAT score or maybe try taking the ACT. Currently with your stats, you are not in the top 9%.

Check out this link to see what SAT/ACT score you need to be in the top 9% if your in-state.

I think the OP has a shot at Merced and Riverside, from in-state, and possibly even UCSC. Irvine would be a reach; others out of reach. The 9% rule simply guarantees admission to at least one UC campus based on “local context” to students in that category (CA residents only, of course). It does not mean that students outside of that 9% are ineligible. UC Merced has a very high acceptance rate, and I think that a 3.8 weighted GPA (the most critical factor for admission at most UCs) is probably competitive for Merced, if not for Riverside. The OP’s SAT score is not competitive for most UCs, although it is not completely out of range for UCSC and Riverside. Like everyone else, the OP should build a list based on actual, not desired, test scores.
