I'm a freshman at UCSB and am looking to transfer to UC Davis. I love SB, but I feel like the stress of paying for college is affecting how I'm doing in classes. I want to transfer to Davis in order to save money by living at home. I'll be sophomore standing after the end of winter quarter. I've contacted the transfer advisor for UCD and also talked to my counselor here, but no one is really giving me a straight answer. Does anyone know the process?

you could try reading this page: [UCDavis: Transfer Admission](http://admissions.ucdavis.edu/admission/transfers/)

Davis takes part in the TAG program. If you go that route (and check carefully to make sure you meet all program requirements) it guarantees admission. Davis, in particular, seems to expect that you have spent the spring term both the year you apply and the year before that at a CC.

To my knowledge, the UC to UC application is only open for fall transfers with an application due date of November 30th (same process as freshman acceptance). Generally, UCs only accept junior transfers as well. I’m sure that there are exceptions, but there’s a good chance you’ll have to wait until next school year to apply.
