UC to UC Transfers Data

Hi everybody!

Most people transferring to UC's are coming from community college but there is a super small, but nonetheless present, fraction of applicants that are applying from other UC schools. The process is not as hard as people make it out to be but, the complete lack of resources for UC to UC transfers is probably what deters people from trying to make it into their dream schools. I hope my fellow UC to UC transfers will post their information on this thread so that future students will have this as a reference and it will be a place to ask those of us who have just finished the process about the details of transferring.

Current UC: UC Irvine

Major: Political Science
Overall GPA: 3.92
Major GPA: 4.00
Major Requirements: Not completed for either school
UC Reciprocity: Yes
Non-AP units: 120
EC: Research, Teaching, Orchestra, Marching Band, Clubs, Newspaper, Volunteering, and Work.

Applied: UC Berkeley & UCLA
Accepted: UC Berkeley & UCLA

*One of the greatest barriers for UC to UC transfers is the unit cap. Future students, be mindful of how many units you are accumulating (not counting AP) and make sure that you know what the unit cap is for the UC you are trying to transfer to. Additionally, obtaining UC Reciprocity (finishing your GE's at one UC which allows you to waive the GE's at your new UC) is a very wise decision.

Keep your GPA up, get your major prep done, and aim to get UC Reciprocity by the time you transfer. Current UC transfers please post! If we can get transfers from all 9 UC's to post it'll be a great resource for the future. Congratulations UC Transfers for Fall 2014 and best of luck future UC Transfers!

How long were you at UCI?

@ksinanian‌ this is my second year

I’m a first year at UC Davis and I would like to apply to UC Berkeley as well. In your opinion, how important are ECs? Does UC Berkeley care about High School grades and SAT Scores for transfer students?

Berkeley only accepts junior level transfers, so you will have to do 2 years at Davis or go to a CC for 1 year.

The UCs do not even ask for HS grades or SAT/ACT scores. They only ask if you have a diploma/GED.

Anyone successfully transfer from UCR to UC Davis? I’d like to see your stats prior to transfer and compare them to my mediocre stats.
