Hey guys! So I am a california resident, but I am currently going to school out of state. I really miss my family and the california life style. I want to apply to pretty much any UC, except probably davis and maybe UCR... but I am not sure if it is work my time.

Current School: Purdue
Major: History and English minor PR (current)
Applying for: Either History or English or PR haha
GPA: 3.4, I expect it to go up a little bit this semester.
Extra Curricular: I feel like this is where I may have a problem. I work locally at my schools telefund. I am a member of a sorority, and I am in the clubs for my majors. However, that is really all I have.
High School: 3.2/4.1w (top 15%)
ACT: 29

Do I have a chance at any UC?

Also I am currently a sophomore.

^ u can transfer as a junior. i say finish off the preque for ur major path then apply for any UCs that u want it, but the problem is that im not sure whether u r consider out of state student which require higher gpa than in state student.

Would I have a shot? I think they all except 90% from CCC…

im just edit. I say pretty decent chance, but you can raise ur gpa higher then i say around 60%

60% for which schools?

Okay, so which ones would that be? Just UCR and UCI?

UCSD, UCSC, UCD, UCR, UCI, ““UCM”” ← new and fresh, known as referral school.

USC ← if u wanna go :)

^ first u need to be hot. lol jk yeah, but in one condition, u need to be more competitive than ccc students since they got the advantage. Basically, u can get in every school if ur major is not competitive.

What are the not competitive majors? I am not all that picky. I am prelaw so it doesnt matter to much for me

Majoring in History and English with a 3.4 GPA will get you accepted – hopefully.

Thank you. Should I even bother with UCLA or is it as ridiculous as i think.

Do I have a shot at UCLA or Cal?

there there, paranoid can be nice sometimes btw you can be accepted to anywhere if u work hard and believe in urself :)

there isnt much really known about out of state transfers on this forum, so it’s hard to say

UCLA and cal have low acceptance rates for OOS transfers, i think UCLA is sub 10% and cal is like 16%. the acceptance rate will probably continue to increase slightly as they try to admit more OOS applicants for their higher tuition $$. still, i think a 3.4 is too low for UCLA and Cal, but you can probably get into any other UC though. try to raise your GPA this fall semester and you may have a good chance

if she is a resident from california, but goes to purdue isnt she considered in state california student? Because its based on her parents and she is probably younger than 24 years. and i think the minimum gpa for cal students is 2.4 and 2.8 for oos
