UC Verification of Extracurricular Activities

Hi,
I’m a high school student and I volunteer at Red Cross in Alabama. Problem is, the shifts are 4 hours long so I can’t sign up for them very often. I volunteer occasionally but not consistently. The common app and Uc apps ask for hours per week, so how should I go about this?

Also, I know that UC’s do random verification. Do they verify your hours, or do they only verify the fact that you volunteered at the particular place?

Use an average. It does not have to be to 3 decimal places; nobody will call you out if you say 3 hours vs. 2.8 hours, but it should be in the ballpark.

Both, but it’s not common for them to check. Don’t stress until they ask for verification.

First off, can your parents afford to be full pay at the UC’s? There is no financial aid for OOS students.

@TomSrOfBoston That wasn’t the question.

@snowfairy137 I am aware of that but it a consideration that all OOS applicants to the UC’s must be aware of.

Do you know how many hours per month you have volunteered? Or can you say usually 1 or 2 times per month, so lets average that to 1.5 sessions per month so 6 hours per month.
