UC withdrawal of admissions appeal

Hello all, here is the predicament: So the UC I applied to has a criteria of a 2.00 for the final normal year (not Summer) Semester, I failed to meet this . I haven't received my withdrawal of admissions yet, but this is pretty much a given. The reason this happened is I failed a class that was UC transferable, it wasn't relevant to my major or IGETC.

My issue is the appeal process, I've been told by the UC counselors that one sends in the appeal they review it (with you giving your evidence) and that's it.

However my issue is that I've been told by someone inside the system that they ask for your reason you didn't meet the criteria (which I would give) and no matter what the reasons this happens, this could go into a full blown investigation in which I speak to a panel and the teacher that gave me the failing grade would give their reasons for this. I'm worried because I don't have time for some situation like this. The UC I applied to isn't even near wear I live. The advice from the person inside the UC system was just don't appeal and move on, b.c I probably will waste my time.

Is this a plausible scenario at all? I couldn't find much on this and the counselor I talked to never mentioned this situation coming up.

No, it is not a plausible scenario. You state your case, grovel appropriately, and promise that you have learned your lesson. Then pray.
