UCB and Withdrawing from an IGETC Course

Hi all! I was recently admitted to UC Berkeley in the College of Letters and Science (non-selective major), much to my surprise, and I couldn’t be happier. I have, however, run into a bit of an issue this semester. I have been on an absurd unit load to reach the required 60 units and overdid it a bit. This has led to me being in a bad way in one of my required courses for completing IGETC. I believe if I worked hard I could get the grade up to a C, but with all the extra work I am unsure and have signed up for a spring intersession course that fulfills the same requirement at my CC as a backup. I am aware the intersession is massive work, but I have the ultimate motivation to put in the hours a day.

My question is- will UCB rescind me for withdrawing from this course and taking another in the intersession that fulfills the same requirement or would I likely be okay? It would likely really help in other courses if I was able to withdraw. It is an IGETC course, but with completing the intersession I would still meet the requirements and be able to get certified.

I don’t think they will care but if you said you were doing IGETC, L&S requires full IGETC so you need to wedge it in. Contact them and alert them to the change.
