@Hip2DaGame My CC is on the quarter system I was looking at the continuing Berkeley students side for prereqs when I said calc 1 and 2. I read somewhere that business calculus still counts as a quarter of calculus though I might have to move over to that one. Supposed to be easier.
@Abaker34 Haas requires 3 Quarters or 2 Semesters of Calculus, end of sentence.
If you don’t have that and can’t pass the class, you won’t be able to attend.
If you don’t have that and might be able to pass, keep fighting for an P.
If you have that and can’t pass then drop and take a lab science or something comparable.
If you have that and can pass it I’d highly recommend it, it’s brutal but useful.
Business Calculus will be a cake walk but probably won’t count towards the Haas Prereqs.
@Abaker34 keep in mind that we are all humans and they understand that this pandemic can be quite challenging for most of us so they will completely understand if you tell them that you will drop the class. Just make sure you tell them how the class is not allowing you to grasp the concept anymore because of the online transition. Don’t worry there is no way they will revoke ur admission based on this.
For everyone else, I wanted to wish you best of luck for all really. Last year I remember my friends were waiting for results and even if I didn’t apply but I felt so nervous because I was imagining myself in their position. Literally, my heart was beating at the idea of getting an answer for the school I always wanted to attend. I thought that feeling was gonna get worse but now I feel calm unexpectedly. Because I know I did my best and really worked as hard as my body could and now I feel empty. If I end up getting it then perfect if not then im not regretful about it because wanting to get to Haas allowed me to change from the worst student in high school to this exemplary student and Im grateful for that. I know that I will be satisfied with whatever school I’ll be going to. I’m sure that all of you here have worked super hard for this and I want you to know that the admission committee is constituted of human beings so if they deny you (god forbid) doesn’t mean it’s going to define you as a person because maybe you were supposed to get it in but they didn’t realize that. Always believe in the plan that has been put for you, if you have a dream then hold on to that very tight and do everything you can possibly do to get there and I PROMISE YOU THAT YOU WILL GET THERE ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. I really really really hope that all of us (not one of us excluded) will be celebrating our admissions tomorrow. If not then hey! the journey is still ahead of us and its not this rejection that is going to stop us! Best of luck for everyone here!
Thank you… I needed to hear that
@Hip2DaGame I’m calling my counselor tomorrow to see if Calc for business and economics would count as my 3rd quarter of calculus. If not just have to pray I can get through this quarter with a “pass” in calc 3.
@Abaker34 I’m fairly sure that it won’t count for Haas but check with your counselor first before taking my advice. Some schools end on 1st/2nd Order Differential Equations instead of Oscillations or Polar Integrals but I think UCB counts the classes all the same regardless of where your book ends off.
The amount of resources available to Calculus students is astounding, and I’m sure your professor will do whatever he can to get you to Haas.
Either way, You got this!
Today’s the big day! We got this! Good luck everyone :))))
@Abaker34 i think at the end of the day they aren’t going to care do much re that. GPA and leadership are way more important. Personally, I would take an accounting course over calc 3 or an international Econ course. Considering acceptances are coming out today if you’re rejected none of these courses will reinstate you.

rejected
4.0 GPA (no interview)
did anyone get accepted without an interview?
Accepted (with interview)
I posted my stats earlier in the thread if you guys want to take a look. Don’t feel too down if you didn’t get in – an acceptance letter doesn’t define you and what you’ve accomplished. I’m sure all of you will end up doing amazing things in life, regardless of whatever school you transfer to <3 With that being said, I’m looking forward to meeting all my fellow admits this fall!
Accepted
3.84 GPA with Interview
Congrats to everyone who got admitted. And to those who were rejected, don’t let this moment define. My only two choices were SF State and Berkeley, so either if I were admitted here or rejected I knew that I tried my best. Be satisfied with the effort you’ve put in, and regardless you’ll be able to find success at whatever school you decide to transfer to.
ACCEPTED WITH INTERVIEW!!
I remember checking this website for years and seeing the acceptances and wishing I could write one and here it is haha
My stats:

International nontraditional student
2 consecutive years board member of Phi Theta Kappa
Director of Budget Management for Associated Students (student body government)
Cedars Sinai volunteer
Debate team member
Swim team member
President’s ambassador
Scholars program
there some other stuff I did that I forgot but basically for Haas GPA and involvement is key. U mostly need to have a very very very personal and deep story to tell (don’t lay out your resume). I never thought I was gonna get in because its so competitive but I went over my limit to get admitted and I’m no way smarter than anyone here. If you’re reading this know that you have your chances but you gotta deserve it so be prepared to bleed but trust me the feeling of acceptance is unforgettable. For the rest like I said yesterday, trust in your dream and know that you will get there with or without Berkley. When you think about it if you have a dream Berkeley is not gonna achieve it for you its your persistence. Think of all great leaders where most of them faced challenges and downfalls. This is your story to tell later so get up and finish the fight and still be proud of your achievements because it takes a big heart to apply for Haas.
