UCB Supplemental Update - foreign language

<p>Under the IGETC section...</p>

<p>I checked the box marked "I completed 2 years of the same foreign language in high school with letter grades of "C" or higher for each semester."</p>

<p>Do I need to fill in Course Title, Dept, Semester, Units, Grade? What about "College/University Where Completed?" I completed the classes in high school, not at a College or University.</p>

<p>No, checking that box is fine and all you need to do for LOTE requirement portion</p>

<p>Dear *********************************:</p>

<p>Although I do not not have access to the document you mentioned below
because it is a secured document for the student, I understand from your
message that you have completed the IGETC foreign language requirement
using your high school foreign language (minimum 2 years of a single
language). If my assumption is correct, simply indicate the LOTE for IGETC
in the following manner:</p>

<p>(1) If your high school foreign language is numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 (each
number representing 1 year), indicate Spanish 2 or French 2, or whatever
is your language, and the grade.</p>

<p>(2) If your high school foreign language is numbered 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,
(each number representing 1 semester), indicate Spanish 4 or French 4, or
whatever is your language, and the grade.</p>

<p>You may wish to indicate in the Comments section that you completed the
IGETC foreign language requirement with at least 2 years of high school
French or Spanish or whatever language you took so that the Office of
Undergraduate Admissions reviewing your admission application is fully
aware that you have satisfied LOTE requirement for IGETC.</p>

<p>I hope this information is helpful to you.</p>

<p>Best wishes,</p>

<p>@SMCguy, guess I am incorrect!</p>

<p>But I may just leave it blank:

<p>Either way, it will be apparent on the hs transcript when you send it to them.</p>
