I’m checking applications of those two scholarships. The essay prompts are quite similar to personal statements so I wonder if I can recycle some parts of my ps?
No,do not recycle because they read all the essays.
You might get away with it since I’m not sure the same people read admissions and scholarship essays. However, you do run the risk of being seen as lazy.
I’d just write new essays.
No, do not. The scholarship committees look at the application AND the scholarship essay. How could they possibly make a decision without seeing your whole application? They often ask questions based on your ECs and other things you put in your application. Don’t retread.

I’m aware of that @luckie1367, but the applications are sent to the alumni office, not just names. When I read essays for Berkeley alumni scholarship committee, i know they had access to the applications, at least in some capacity. I would never ever recycle an essay over to the scholarship committee.
Thanks for that @lindyk8, I didn’t realize they got access to the full app.
@luckie1367, well, it might not be the full application, but they have some pertinent information. So I wouldn’t chance it. And I’ve always been told to write a new essay. :(|)
I completely agree, better safe than sorry!
OK, just to figure out whether its partial or full access, I did a quick search. At least according to UCLA, the alumni committee has access to the entire application.
Hey @luckie1367, I need to amend. The scholarships headed by the UCs look at the entire app, which I assume would include TAP, and definitely includes Regents. The alumnis do not have access to the app essays. So you were right. B-)
No worries @lindyk8
So, yeah, whoever asked, I guess you could submit the same essay, but I would tweak it.
Thanks for your advices! I guess I’ll change them a little bit and add more information. The essay prompts have more spaces to elaborate anyway
