Anybody Know the chances of getting off the waitlist
If I can skip including second semester grades (How much does this matter??)
Also I had 2 B’s first semester… will this affect me?? Any advice is apprecates (Especially from people who got off the waitlist or those who know about it)
If you look back at recent years, a lot of people get off the waitlist. Somewhere in here I saw the number was 20 to 30% get off the list but the real stats are somewhere on the UCB website.
The Bs should be OK. You must have had good overall stats to get offered waitlist.
The most important thing is the opt-in essay. Spend time on that and put your heart into it. I know it’s hard to write another essay especially when you’re feeling disappointed. Stay positive, you’ve got a good shot.
Most waitlist admits get admitted the first week of May then there is another wave or two until the end of the month. Oh yeah, most get offered January admit or one of the fall programs off campus, though many get regular offers too.
Good luck
It was 20-30% before they overenrolled one year. Then, they decided to rely more heavily on wailist. Since then, WL admit rates have been in the mid 50% (check Common Data sets). Furthremore, L&S waitlists admits are more common than Engineering, nursing, etc. Thus, if ur waitlisted to l&s, you should be pretty optimistic about getting in.
