UCD Transfer Rejects

hmm...I was just reading the posts. lot's of UCD transfer rejections. didn't you guys have your lower div done? I thought it was easy to get in UCD as long as you had your pre-reqs done...what's going on?

like i said before, i had ALL OF MY LOWER-DIVS DONE and maintained a 3.6 GPA. i don't know why i was rejected and i am definitely going to appeal.

same as above...
but GPA 3.1
everything else DONE!

Heard of a 4.0 guy with everything done and rejected.

One theroy is that there aren't enough spaces (drop outs) to take transfer in some majors.

Another theory is coordination between different campus (they can't all take you)

Yet another theory is UCD want to reject some 4.0 to raise it's prestige.

Personally I don't care, I landed in a better school with way better major. Though I do want to chill with my homies in UCD (I lived in their dorm before as a vistor)

I didn't apply to UCD, but when did they begin releasing their decisions? Are people still being accepted at this time?

rejected, history major

davis wants to raise its prestige by rejecting overqualified students

i just don't get it

so it's true that all the rejections came at one time? or was it random?

How do they increase their prestige by rejecting overqualified students and accepting typical transfer students? That doesn't make any sense to me.

doesnt make sense to me either!

i dont have a great GPA but i did all the reqs.. and i mean ALL

"davis wants to raise its prestige by rejecting overqualified students" maybe its true..but look, most of my friends got in there were below 3.5! I kno only 2 pple were around 3.9, ***!

maybe they kno overqualified students won't even choose their school, so they give out spots to typical students?

Well if you can get in with low stats, all the more power to ya! The ONLY thing that has been making sense in my mind is that maybe Davis figures that the extremely qualified applicants will be accepted to UCLA or UCBerk anyway...so...they don't want to limit their acceptances to people who will probably go off to a better school. They might figure that 3.9-4.0 student is just unnecessarily using Davis as a backup.

Yeah exactly. You must of just typed that in right before me: "great minds think alike."

i donno, i personally know a couple guys who are poli sci majors who got into davis and they are like 3.1-3.3 range. i dont even care anymore, i got into santa cruz so if davis doesnt want me they can **** off.

3.5 GPA, I got accepted to Davis's compsci.

has anyone asked how the admissions office are posting their decisions? do they split it up alphabetically or by major?

i think by major but it's not alphabetical for sure

does anyone know if they sort the decisions the same for all the schools? or is it just by major at davis?

I think they pretty much group by major for all universities.

When you think about it, it would be silly for them to group alphabetically.
