UCD/UCSC Computer Science B.S. or Psychology B.A.

Greetings,

I am applying for transfer for Fall 2012 for UC Davis and UC Santa Cruz.
My goal is to double major in Computer Science B.S. / Psychology B.A.

I have finished all my lower division CS reqs but have not completed the required science and math classes (Calc C, Chem B...). If I apply for fall 2012, I will be able to complete those before summer of 2012. I have a 3.4 GPA for core C.S. classes.

For Psychology, I have only taken two classes but completed them with a 4.0 GPA.

Which major yields a higher probability of acceptance?
Is it better to finish pre-reqs post-transfer?
Is it better to do a Computer Science minor / Psychology major instead? (Industry wise)

My long-term goal is to work in the C.S industry while pursuing higher degrees in Psychology. I have about 18 months of industry experience in the field.

Both majors are highly impacted. For your 2nd question, yes, it will be much better since you can start with upper division classes once you transfer. Third question, I think the other way around might be better (depends on which one you like most). Btw, have you looked at UCSC’s Cognitive Science? It’s like a combined degree in CS and Psych, maybe it will better suit you if you cannot cram all the lower division pre-reqs in just a year…
