UCD vs. University of Arizona

3 days to decide!
Out of State for Both.

Pros for UofA
Accepted to Living/Learning Community for pre-business.
Their business school has much more recognition and specific majors (Business Management, as I am looking to get into Hotel/Hopspitality)
Pac 10 Sports
College Experience
Amazzzinngg campus!

UCD Pros
Much more recognition in general.
Surrounded by more intellectual/college ready students.
From general consensus the people/professors seem a lot more friendly.
College Town.
California!

UofA Cons
Student body…
Admission acceptance rate, basically anyone.

UCD Cons
Haven’t been able to visit campus.
No specific Business Major, except they have Managerial Economics.

Any input will help me in these next 3 days, thank you!

I can only give you my opinion of the Davis campus as my only knowledge of the University of Arizona campus comes from the movie Revenge of the Nerds. The UC Davis campus is stunning. It is large and sprawling.

You can get anywhere you want in town on bike.
Its 1 hour away from San Francisco and 1.5 from Lake Tahoe.
It gets hot in summer, but then doesn’t Arizona get hot too?
Are you an athlete? I know a girl who could have gone to a UC but chose to go to Fresno State (Fresno is absolutely miserable) because of its athletics. . .and she doesn’t play any sports! I’ve lived in California all of my life and I must say NOTHING beats seeing the sun setting over the Pacific. Arizona is land-locked.

Of course, I am a California girl born and bred and the thought of moving out of state is odd since I have everything I want here. I guess I am admitting by bias :)

U of A----I am sure it is nice–I know students who love it and some that left after their Freshman year. But if you are paying the same $…go with Davis. You will be surrounded by more academically motivated students and that is a good thing.

Also–as far as the Greek thing goes—U of A is in a whole different Greek scene–very “difficult” to get into sororities if you are not the perfect"fit". They are Greek freaks.

Davis however seems to also love its Greek system…but the whole thing just seems more “friendly”! There is somewhere for everyone for the most part.

But this thread will be biased…but it is only because we know the right answer!!
Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the responses, my main reason for posting this thread here is that I do not know too much about UCD.
Some questions I have is.

Does anyone have any background on how strong the Economics program is (since there is no business major).
Does UCD take Dual-Enrollment credits to transfer if they fit their Pre-req’s.
How is the college experience at UCD?
