I applied to UCF as a transfer with an AA from Florida Gulf Coast University. I will have my AA by Spring 2012. However, my GPA just dropped dramatically this term due to a death in the family this semester(3.2 down to a 2.0 possibly 1.8) My application status says they are still waiting for a final transcript with Fall 2011 grades. Does UCF make admission decisions based on Fall grades or will they give me the chance to bring my GPA back up during Spring 2012.

Also, I received a residency verification letter in the mail. I didn't receive that the first time I applied to UCF as a transfer with no AA and was denied. Does that mean anything other than the obvious (they just want me to verify I live here.)

Sorry for your loss If you send in your spring grades to be evaluated, chances are it will be way too late. They will look at your fall grades. UCF wants to verify FL residency from every applicant that claimed it, so it doesn’t mean anything further than that. Just curious, but doesn’t a 1.8 put you on academic probation at FGCU?

Thanks for the info. I spoke with my advisor at FGCU and she said I have nothing to worry about in terms of academic probation… Are you familiar with FSU admissions? If so, I applied there as a transfer with AA as well and they say that I don’t need to submit Fall grades for them to make a decision… All the other schools I applied to said they want Fall grades… Just wondering if that’s a good or bad sign lol

Yeah I’m familiar i just got accepted! but it depends when you send your transcript really. If you send it after the first semester is over then it will display those grades. If it’s in the middle of a semester, those grades won’t be on there.

And it most likely means you’re just deferred from the schools who need more grades if they told you formally like on your status update or portal. I got deferred from ucf I have hope for after I send my grades though since I did well.

Question, did you all submit an essay with you application??? In the application it didnt mention that i needed to submit an essay, however in the FAQ it says they recommend us to submit an essay…
