I was recently placed on the waiting list at ucf. Has anyone been accepted from the waitlist and how long were you it?
I am also waitlisted was deferred but apparently it’s better to b waitlisted ?
Applied in September, defferred in December, waitlisted two days ago. The entire process has had holes and hurdles.
1360 SAT (630 Math, 730 Reading & Writing) & and a 22 on the essay (7,8,7)
3.45 unweighted GPA
4.08 weighted, with two APs and eleven honors
I’ve done DE at a technical school for three years but the classes get scored as electives, I included my certifications:
Microsoft Word 2016, Word Expert 2016, PowerPoint 2016, Outlook 2016, Excel 2016, Excel Pro 2016, Access 2016, Photoshop CC
I’ve been in student government and been in a leadership position every year:
Freshman Class Representative
Student Body Treasurer
Student Government Association President
I started and ran the school Music Club (Suncoast Music Initiative, students volunteered to teach classmates how to play and read sheet nusic), I work with Relay for Life every year (team leader two years) and am head of finance on prom committee.
Outside of school I work two jobs to support my family and am in severe financial need. I’m a first-generation college student and my family was displaced by Hurricane Irma.
I’ve been visually impaired since I was twelve. I worked with the DBS and the Lighthouse for the Blind and was a counselor in a camp for visually impaired/blind kids.
I was waitlisted earlier this month and I checked my account this morning and I was accepted! My wait was less than 2 weeks. I think it may have had something to do with the recommendation letters my counselor sent to them.
@ellisa that’s great! Congrats. If you don’t mind me asking what were your stats?
Thanks! I was lazy in school so my stats weren’t really that great. SAT: 1230. WGPA: 4.3. UWGPA: 3.2. I’m 147/836 in rank but I think I went up. Classes: I did pre-ib for the first 2 years of high school (took AP Human Geo freshman year and AP World my sophomore year), all IB classes for junior year (with AP English Lit), and all AP for senior year. I believe I have 40 credits. I did tons of extracurriculars, mostly clubs and writing for some websites online. I had 50+ hours of community service at the time of submission of the application but now I have more than 80. I also had the recommendation letters from my counselor and teachers. I submitted my app in early February. Hope that helps!
Today is the last day that we should be notified and yet nothing has been updated. Has anyone been notified today?
I emailed someone at admissions and they told me his week they should be going through their wait list.
