UChicago class of 2016 Early Action applicants unite!

deferred. dang i really thought i’d get in. 34 act, 3.98 uw gpa… i wonder what it was.

Anyone find a stat saying the percentage of deferred applicants that get in?

lol I’m sorry for my massacre of a post. I’m too excited.

I’m in. Thank god.

Congrats to the admitted :).
For the deferred, it says we should express continued interest to our regional admissions officer… however, I’m from Chicago, so there are several admissions officers. Should I e-mail them all? What exactly should I say?

@cakewalk

I don’t think its just accept/defer with very few rejects because that would give them a lot more work especially considering the 25% increase in EA applicants this year

10%. Source The Uncommon Blog

@gbspence

thanks

accepted wooooooo

Does anyone know how many people applied and how many got in?

10% of deferred applicants get in. Not a great statistic.

deferred. this is awful

In. Oh man, I am so, so relieved.

Accepted and so relieved!!

so if we get deferred, are our applications in a separate pile for regular decisions? Like can they only accept a certain percent of deferred applicants or do they treat us as regular decision applicants?

does anyone know if UChicago released EA stats online like harvard?

Ugh…deferred.
I had a 3.78 (yikes) but I had a 2320 and a number of national science awards. (full profile at [Where to apply/Chance for Columbia ED - College Confidential](http://www.■■■■■■/ChanceMe))
I guess I’m applying to Swarthmore ED II now…

deferred.
but don’t really care, i got into my ED school 8D

It seems like only the very best of the best in terms of GPA/Test scores got in EA. Maybe there’s some chance for the deferred, idk.
What an ego bruiser though. Not really sure where to go from here

I wonder what the accept/defer/deny distribution is…
