@ak9800 my son is in the same boat, looking at a bunch of deferrals before Christmas. Does anyone think the competition is tougher this year than most?
@VegasRoller I hope so or else I’ll feel bad and not be able to enjoy my second semester because I won’t be sure if I can get into any schools I want to go to
does anyone have any information on rescinded offers from uchicago? whether it be mid year report grades, senior course change, etc etc
Hmm. I also had the same question @nascar18. Does anyone have any information regarding that?
whoa you guys are already beginning to think about rescinded offers… i am not even thinking about that. My counselor told me to always assume that you didn’t get in before the result comes out and focus on the RD essays, so I am just aching for that rejection letter lol
I got a mail from Chicago today. Turns out it’s just mail asking my dad to donate…
LOL
@Dankjewel is your father U Chicago alumni? We did not receive letter for donation
Yes he is. He also got a call from the school as well asking for a donation
He’ll be hella pissed if I don’t get in
Maybe ask your father to wait until Monday evening
Yeah, he’ll do that
What did we decide the postcard saying “Our Fictitious Alumni are Real Characters” means?
Anything in past years’ posts about a pre-decision mailer?
@YoungOne4 We decided that alum Indiana Jones makes UChicago even more attractive.
Here from a columbia rejection so totally don’t expect to be accepted, but good luck to everyone!
Does anybody know how much more difficult it is to get accepted applying EA (in contrast to applying ED)? I’m almost completely expecting a deferral or even a rejection… Anxious for Monday!
EA is substantially more difficult than ED. Except when financial aid driven, EA is seen as a hedge by Admissions. Folks who get EA deferred would be highly advised to switch to ED II, if UChicago is the top choice. RD seems impossible based on last year stats. Good luck to all. So far winter has been a mild breeze.
How does ED II compare to RD?
@GraniteLand Uh what about Mark Watney? Dude has got to be Irish with the amount of potatoes he eats
@college2022vux True…I loved the Martian and Mark Watney (Matt Damon). Leave it to a fictitious UChicago grad to use his waste to fertilize his potato crop on Mars. Then again we have the mighty Drix from Osmosis Jones. Developed at UChicago and graduated Phi Beta Capsule. LOL!
