Everybody, I really would not take stock in postcards and quirky mailings that UChicago has been sending recently. From what I know, they never have any bearing on or indication of the state of your application. We all have plenty to worry about, so let’s worry about the more important things.
It’s important to remember that there is no possibility of hearing anything about your decision until monday at 5:00 PM EST. Go enjoy time with your family this weekend, don’t fret about the decision.
Well just learned that UChicago never received my essays so I am obviously rejected. Congrats to anyone who does end up getting accepted
Update: Chicago did receive my essays this was an error in the computer
Everyone - the time will go a lot more quickly if you turn your computer off and do something else this weekend. Get some sleep, do your homework, go see the new Star Wars, go caroling, go bake cookies, read a book . . . hanging around this forum before Monday afternoon will only increase the anxiety.

u guys know what time on monday they release the decision?

GPA: 3.95 (my school does not weigh it, but I did it myself and it is about 4.6 on a random website). I go to a top magnet school in my state.
Activites: president of two clubs, one of which is for childhood cancer research. A part of many other clubs and activities (don’t wanna go into details here). No sports.
Essays: I really liked my common app, and one of my essays for UChicago was quirky and I liked it. Not sure about the other.
Recs: business and biology teachers love me and know a lot about me so I’m hoping they were good. Have a good relationship with my counselor as well.
White, female, asked for aid.
Hook: first-generation, immigrant
I have visited the school, had an interview, and have talked to my admissions counselor a few times.

I know I am going to get denied or at most deferred, but I’m still so anxious to get decisions back.
@Rand2020 We got an email receipt for the enrollment deposit at 8:11 PM EST the day decisions came out. So the link appeared on the portal at some point between 5 PM and 8 PM EST.
