UChicago Class of 2022 Discussion

@EmZoWe I have a 3.2 GPA!! How was I not rejected!!!

Does anyone know what the number or percentage is for defered? Either for how many got deferred who applied or how many deferred got accepted last year?

For those wondering my stats, ACT: 33 Composite, GPA: 4.4, I said earlier but if you cant see it i applied EA and was deferred, out of state, im from michigan

@seni0r2018 lol low gpa for the win!!

Deferred
Scores:

35 ACT
4.21 weighted gpa, 3.87 UW
Top school in my state, very difficult
1C last year in Calc second semester
Extremely active in an advocacy group (teen ambassador, working on some articles for teen vogue) which I won’t name because you would know who I am:)
Cousin goes to UChicago
Sailing team, MAO, president of French club
Published research, presented poster at prominent international conference
My supplemental essays were amazing, my common app essay less so
Is it possible to submit a resumé or something that has more detail about what I do for the organization I mention? I am planning on doing EDII.
National merit semi finalist
I’m a white girl, and both my parents went to college.
Maybe they wanted to see my grades get better for this semester? I’m going to end up with one B, which is better than how I did last semester…

I am surprised at the deferral for my son. He has 3.98 unweighted GPA, 1470 sat. 780 sat math subject test.

Drum major in band, National Merit semi finalist, FL Sunshine State Scholar.

He goes to a small rural, public HS and really has worked hard with the limitations his HS has for offerings. It’s disappointing. Maybe because we applied for financial aid?

i think everyone is deffered. I see no rejection

Son Accepted ED!!.. So Proud

So does anybody know the deferral rate? Deferred from NJ

Accepted.

@okeydokeypokey I doubt it was because of financial aid. I’m pretty sure UChicago is need-blind. Top-level admissions is just tough. I’m a National Merit semi who got 2 perfect subject tests and a 35 and still got deferred so don’t worry. There will be some great school out there that will take your son. Good luck!

Accepted EA still in shock!

Ayyee where are my bois here who just joined the Double Deferred Club?

Tbh, I’m not even upset. Playing the college admissions game really has made me appreciate and respect those that got into these elite schools.

@okeydokeypokey it’s not financial aid–they’re a need-blind in terms of granting admission

Congrats to all that were accepted. You are truly exceptional and should be very proud of all your hard work.

Are there no rejection? I think they might not have time to go through every application so that’s why…

No people have gotten rejected, I know a few. But they do defer a lot.

Accepted ED!!! STILL SHAKING

accepted EA, 33 ACT, 4.7GPA
