I saw a post on reddish saying somebody who called the office claimed the date will be Dec 15 this year…not sure…hope it can come out early cuz I want to check the one with the greatest possibility first…It will come out on Monday but I want to check all my decisions at once but don’t wanna wait until 17th
@JOYHENG5969 - the only date worth noting will be the one released officially by the Admissions office. In the past they’ve announced a few days to a week prior to the actual decision day. If you want a likeliest day just in order to prepare yourself, that would be Monday the 17th since that’s consistent with the two prior years. Whether you want to wait till the 17th or not, it might make sense for you to prepare for that date and not anything earlier. I don’t recall any releases on a Saturday since they changed up the admissions plans but someone is welcome to correct.
Unless you have no plans to RD anywhere, it’s simply unrealistic to “check all your decisions at once”. But if you will know with certainty where you are attending as of the third week of December, consider yourself lucky compared to the many who will need to wait several more months to get that information. Also, just in case you get deferred, it’s best to practice having to wait (see previous paragraph).
i think NYU and Ivies come out on the 13th. AOs and College Board say the 15th because that’s basically “mid-december”. But it is better to wait until they e-mail you the actual date.
At least one Ivy comes out on the 14th.
Does anyone know if Alumni Recommendations from an alumni who was at your school and did extremely well at UChicago carry a lot of weight?
I’m not sure the Admissions Office would just tell someone the date before its released… I would still lean toward the 17th
Wishing the best for all of us!
It’s Official. The 17th.

yay we’re only a week away!
Only one week left! Good luck everyone!
Honestly guys I hate waiting for the decision to come out…I’d rather know right this second although I’m def gonna be rejected:(
Totally relate. I’m trying to keep busy with school and extracurriculars so as to not think about it, but its impossible to forget about.
Same here i’m in the middle of finals snowed under piles of work but I cant focus on anything TT_TT
Been quietly tracking this thread constantly since it started. Feels like now’s a good time to pitch in. Good luck to everyone hearing back on Monday! Hope we’ll see each other next fall!
We’re going to be in Chicago (6 hours away) this weekend and I went on and scheduled a visit on Monday, before I realized that’s when the decision comes out. Will definitely be trying to manage expectations. Part of me wants to cancel the visit so my daughter doesn’t fall more in love and then a couple hours later finds out she didn’t get in.
Which uncommon essay prompt did you guys do?
I did the one about the typo
what about you?
D wrote a love letter to an object (it was an ode to her favorite pair of creepers)
I did the apples and oranges essay
@alliblues If your daughter is doing EA, the most likely outcome is deferred to RD. In no way I am saying that your daughter is not qualified or she won’t be admitted. But at least for the last few years the majority of EA applicants seemed to be deferred to RD. In other words, if your daughter is in the EA round, you may as well go on the tour. Chances are she won’t be rejected on Monday.
