UChicago EA Applicants 2018

neon but we aren’t really, we’re just saying that we hope for good news for everyone

But I’m a liberal and firmly believe in free hugs (not sure how the two relate to each other haha)

We should sell baked goods while simultaneously giving out free hugs!!!

OMG BEST SCHOOL CLUB EVERRRR

And we should donate proceeds to charity of course.

even better idea neon. my sister already offered to bake care packages for me if i get in

@ironchariot but isn’t talking about how one expects to feel when admission decisions come out violating the rule of the “D”?

idk neon, maybe?

Wait, are we not supposed to talk about what we think will happen?

@iron eh, semantics. But I just realized both our handles are of type chemical.elementnoun_; so cool!

Also, anyone have any favorite poems that sound really awesome when recited? I’m advancing to the finals of poetry out loud at my school and need to pick a second poem! Suggestions are welcome! I’m looking for a challenging, more classical poem (less modernist, pre-1990).

@debater not explicitly, no. the point is not to stress bc it’s out of our hands. it’s unclear whether speculation on anything about d day is also out (does that make cc normandy bc we’re all gonna storm it when decisions come out?)

I shall delineate some rules to elucidate things for future reference:

The “D” and abstaining from speaking of aforementioned article includes, but is not limited to:

1) talking about what one thinks their admission decision will be

2) wallowing in misery over how their not-so-stellar-but-actually-amazing ECs are going to get them rejected/deferred

3) speculating on how they are going to react/feel/cry when Wednesday afternoon comes (this is only applicable until the day of decisions)

4) feel free to add, modify, etc.

@neontissues: “l(a” by e. e. cummings or Shelley’s “Ode to the West Wind”

Yes, I would say that is an appropriate analogy.

I’d also call December 18th a day that will live in infamy.

Oops, guess I’m a little late to the language party haha

for sure it will

@nerve what languages do you speak?

best of luck to all 2018 applicants

@nerve never too late to the party!

I have been watching Khan Academy videos all day to study for finals. The struggle is real

Why is everyone talking about the “D”. I want my milkshakes now lol

neon clarified the rules omar and now we can’t talk about it anymore
