UChicago EA Applicants 2019

I did the untranslatable word essay  It was def one of my best! I had so mych fun writing it

Own prompt. But I think I screwed myself by doing so

@DavidTaleb‌ what did you talk about?

I wrote the untranslatable words essay. I wrote about the over 59 words the inuits have for snow. I really loved the topic.

@naaattt Haha. I made a pretty tough question which I dont think I answered well.

What is one important truth that few people agree with you upon?

How about you?

i answered the “why are you here and not somewhere else?” question

@DavidTaleb I asked “where are you going?” which is pretty simple but I made it metaphorical and stuff idk haha

I did the untranslatable word prompt. It seems like so many people poses their own questions.

@Esat936‌ I think there’s a difference between being passionate about something and taking yourself too seriously. Either way, I think if we could all just stop being worried about it we would.

I chose the pH essay, talked about different bases/how they resembled different parts of my personality

I chose the numbers essay, then told a story about a village full of numbers and scapegoating. I’m hoping UChicago will appreciate the creativity because I’m not sure I answered the question

just wanna know now

I said it before, but I made my own prompt and basically personified Time, discussed his history, and how the human race has ostracized him. I really like it

@Localdreamer15‌ of course, it was really good :^)

I talked about like 5 or 6 untranslatable words that I like. Looking back on it, I don’t really like it because I have gotten a lot better at essay writing, or maybe it’s because I’ve read it so much I just dont like it anymore.

I’m afraid to go reread mine, and it doesn’t matter by now. What happens happens I suppose.

I only talked about one word and speculated it into several paragraphs…the name of my country

@naaattt‌ Yeah me too. I exchanged essays with a few people, but I was really careful to avoid rereading them. I’d be so disappointed if I found a typo or just realized that they’re awful.

This is such a stressful day…i find out about Georgetown in 3 hours…my fantasy is that i get into Georgetown and then turn it down for uChicago! A girl can have dreams…right?

@ogacihcu‌ I think that is the best thing to do, no point in stressing, but I reread for the first time last week and thought it was decent, nothing incredible.
