lol we get back the 3rd of January, though, so S2 is going to be incredibly long…especially now that I have to wait until March!
Same here, I have a massive winter break
Almost a month long
@Voorhee did you actually get in with those stats?
how do we know about financial aid stuff?
ACCEPTED EA!!!
deferred ea
Well, to all those of us who got deferred… Let’s just press on and do our best for other applications. Life has a way of not doing what we want it to, but that doesn’t mean we can’t try! Hopefully we see each other next fall!
Congrats to everyone who got in. I’m sure you guys are deserving
To all of you guys who got rejected, I’m so sorry… Just remember that you are not defined by which university that accepts you, and that to have made it this far in your academic journey, where you are at the point where you can apply to UChicago, is already an achievement in itself. Heck, we’re pretty much in the same boat! Deferment acceptance rates are usually pretty low so we’re all in the same situation
Keep your chins up and your hearts big! You’re all smart and high-achieving… UChi just doesn’t have the space to accept all 30k applicants
Hey guys! This will be my first post at CC, and I also got deferred (EA)… We should start a thread for us all deferred people. Of course, I am feeling disappointed, but not as disappointed as my MIT rejection since I might still have a chance; I should perhaps stop being so optimistic idk. Well, at least we have a chance to further enhance our app -somehow.
PS: I am an international student, and I’ve applied for a great amount of financial aid. I might change my plan to ED2, but I am still not sure if it would make a difference at a “need-sensitive” school for internationals. Even though UChicago is my first choice, I am really confused, and I don’t know if I should maybe ED2 to another school.
Accepted ED!!! I didn’t get an email until like 45 minutes after I checked the portal lmao
@archilochus yeah… I’m pretty much in the same situation. Int’l applicant asking for a lot of aid. that’s probably one of the big red marks. I’m deciding between ED2 Chicago or Swarthmore right now.
yeah! we should start a thread
deferred ea! not really surprised. i wonder what the acceptance rate was for ea
EA Deferred.
so far it doesn’t look like it’s very high. It seems that ED applicants have been seeing a lot of success with their applications, though! I bet they gave all of them priority and probably chose a few ED apps over EA apps that were stronger.
@amwarren I am considering; is it possible?
EA Deferred
Deferred EA
possible to do what?
Accepted EA from india
EA deferred from Canada
I was accepted EA!! I did not think that would happen
