Hey @aayala59 !! Welcome
Does anyone know anyone in the science class?? Writing must have been pretty popular
oh okay I live in the suburbs so yeah city kids got it longer! @aayala59 and i agree they tend to not be very clear with some things.
@aayala59 nice to meet you!! And @SugarSmarts nope, theres no other threads about uchicago summer programs that ive seen
Hi all! Iām taking the Biology course and really looking forward to going to UChicago after these darned AP exams. Iām coming from California btw
@FresaVille Hi, welcome!! How did you find out about the UChicago program? And haha same here!
@SugarSmarts
I started searching for colleges earlier this year and learned of UChicago, which I found to be really cool in its quirkiness and intellectualism. Although my school is technically a college prep, they focus more on the various state schools and I really want to experience new places so I spend a lot of time browsing college websites haha. I think I first found the program on an email since I signed up for their mailing list
@FresaVille hey nice to meet you! Im glad more people are finding this thread!
How are AP tests going for you guys?
@SugarSmarts really good, i just have lang left next week. im taking sat subject tests tomorrow which i am not looking forward to
@SugarSmarts Theyāve been going pretty well! Iām just a little nervous for gov FRQās next week haha. @Dartmouth_21 good luck!
@aayala59 Me too! I feel like I havenāt learned anything in gov this yearā¦our teacher didnāt really know what she was doing. Iām just hoping to pass haha
@Dartmouth_21 Good luck on your subject tests!!
@SugarSmarts @aayala59 thanks!! it went pretty good. good luck on your gov tests! im taking gov next year
Oh haha we take gov sophomore year and the test wasnāt that bad! Iām taking stats (self study) and Lang this week! Scary! Anyone else taking the Math II subject test in June?
Iām taking the June act too I have no idea how Iām gonna study for both with AP and finals! Gah
@quoderatuhhh i just took the math subject test, wasnt fun lolā¦ it was really easy and quick for the first like 30 or so problems, but toward the end it got so annoying. in terms of studying, the hardest concepts on this one was vectors, limits, and law of cosine/law of sines. usually thereās permutations and combinations, but there werenāt any on this test. im probably gonnna retake in october
Oh okay good to know! I donāt think my PreCalc class even learns about permutations this soooo guess Iām teaching that to myself haha. Do you think the scores would even be back in time for college apps? Is there no subject tests in September?
@quoderatuhhh nope no subject tests in september and the october scores should be out like the 3rd or 4th week of october so yeah! and permutations are easy its more of a statistics concept. its easiest to do it with the calculator function. this video is good! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEC1f97XYGY
Oh haha but donāt the scores typically take like 2 months? And thanks so much!
they donāt, thats just with the new SAT because they need to get enough scores to standardize the test. So theyre using the march april may june administrations to get accurate scores. The subject tests shouldnt be affected, and the regular sat should return to normal in the fall i think
