UChicago RD Stats/Decisions Thread

i call like an hour ago and they said that they haven't made a decision for me yet; they said i'll get it in a few days

I just spoke with Crystal and was informed that a decision had been posted to my file just yesterday. I should expect an email within a day or two.

I left my phone number, and hopefully a counselor will call me back soon with this information.

btw, I was RD.

Michael

I called too. She said that they had made a decision and it should be posted early next week...I talked with Crystal though. I guess Jerry is the only one giving out the decisions.

He is. I don't envy him one bit.

Hes not picking up and the mailbox is full.

Who else is waiting to hear?

I called in yesterday too, and crystal told me that there's a decision and i would probably get an email today

So I guess they're not sending out acceptances in heavy batches as the three of us were told three different things. Rather, they send stuff as they make the decisions.

It seems like a waste to have my decision sitting in their computer and me not knowing even after 9 days from mid-may.

Yup, terrible. I guess they have better things to do.
Someone want to post the numbers that you guys use to contact Jerry and Admissions? I can probably look it up, but since you guys all call all the time you probably memorized them by now.

I don't understand why they won't email the decisions as they are made. It would make the whole thing a lot easier for them; people wouldn't keep calling thier office and asking for a decision. I think they just haven't made the decisions yet.

http://uncommontransferapplication.blogspot.com/ interesting new posts by Jerry. Kinda makes you feel bad, kinda of not. The only reason why I feel bad is it seems as if most of the hate is focused and directed at Jerry since he is the only one who makes posts on the blog, and its not like Jerry alone is causing the delay...

I guess they must have about 675 transfer applicants. Does anybody else feel like this particular year transfer admission, along with freshman, has gotten a lot harder? I mean NYU CAS accepted only 8% compared to the usual 30%...or at least thats what they told me.

Anyway, I guess the most relavent stuff to us is:

My direct line is 773-834-0163 but that line fills up quickly. Best way to reach me is through Ms. Shaw or Ms. Watson who will take your message and hand it directly to me wherever I am in the Office, and I return the calls at that point.

bump for a bright unclouded melting prime.
yeah it didnt work

Called in about 2 hours ago and left my phone number with Crystal to give to Jerry. Anyone get a call back yet?

I did the same yesterday and am still awaiting a return call.

Just got called back - Waitlisted.

I called at 5PM their time and magically Jerry picked up. I wasnt even expecting it.

Anyway I got waitlisted. He didnt really say anything like he has to others here so :( but at least its not a rejection..It just sucks that I'm not going to know for such a long time.

He said they are sending an email tomorrow.

The way I look at it, a lot of ppl who applied and got accepted may not go because of how late Chicago was so maybe there is a better chance for waitlisted students to get in (assuming they didnt account for that when they made their decisions).

Im quite suprised and somewhat happy because my stats are HORRIBLE compared to almost all of you.

almost - read: except neverborn.

huh?

.

I AM NOT GOING IF UPENN WILL HURY UP AND ACCEPT ME LOL, wishful thinking right lol......

or if columbia or duke would like to take me off the waiting list

bball87, UChi was/is the first choice of many on this thread, myself included. To hear that someone else may transfer there simply because another school did not accept them is upsetting to say the least. Please, be a little more considerate in your posts.

jack: I meant that your stats are horrible compared to almost all of us (meaning all of us except me.)

ALSO:

Gerald Doyle said...

I completed 18 calls to students this afternoon; some to admits, some to students who were placed on the wailist, and some to students who were not offered admission to Chicago.

I will continue to work through the list that is keep by my colleagues Ms. Watson and Ms. Shaw.
