jacknjill: All transfer admits have until June 15th, not June 1st, to decide.

I know. I was referring to the deadline that waitlisted students must reserve a spot on the waitlist by (June 2nd). So we will know the size of the waitlist pool then. The quota that depends on how many accepted students decide to attend, however, we won't know for sure till June 15th.

Final admissions decisions will be made after we have received replies to our first offers of admission. We will conclude the decision-making process by June 15, 2006.

Perhaps they are going to be estimating how many spots they will have, or they are just making that date up. I'm going with the latter :(

They had to extend it, so probably June 30.

It's good that its unranked right?

Yeah, because you have a better shot at improving your chances. If it was ranked right off the bat, any efforts to improve your chances would have little effect since you would already be ranked.

I have been rejected as well.

...

did anyone get an actual email notification relatively recently saying they were waitlisted

pstransfer, me. i got an e-mail on friday night.

I think they sent one email to everyone at the same time. Jerry told me that I was waitlisted on Thursday and that I would get an email Friday, which I did.

am i the only person who hasn't had a decision yet. seriously, this is ridiculous. i think this basically means i didn't get in and they don't even care to notify me in any way since i was such a bad candidate.

I called and found out that I was accepted on the 22nd, but I haven't received any formal notification yet.

Chimaera, what are your stats

Where the hell are the credit evaluations?

My stats:

HS gpa: 3.59 weighted (not exactly uniform: undiagnosed sleep apnea until 11th grade, during which time my gpa was in the low to mid 2-range, speckled with D's and E's; all IBs and APs senior year with straight A's)
SAT: 1450 (old)
College: Bard College
College gpa: After 1 semester, 3.93
Major (at time of application): Near East Studies (studying Arabic)/International Relations
EC's: Research Assistant for the Biology Department's "Immediate Science Research Opportunity Program" doing research on tuberculosis and NMDA (presented at a science conference and to be published); Managing Editor of the Bard Journal of Social Sciences; Women's Rugby

Although I really, really love Chicago, I might have to turn down the offer of admission because of what I'd be leaving behind at Bard. I'm helping one of my professors write a book, was offered an incredible research internship, and would be Editor-in-Chief of the Bard Journal of Social Sciences next semester. I called and talked to a counselor at Chicago, and he reaffirmed that graduate schools look at what you do when you're at college, and not where you went. I still haven't received the packet, but this has got to be the hardest decision I've ever made in my life.

Wow congrats. Although I'm biased as a waitlistee, I really think staying at Bard will be better for you given all the oppurtunities you are already taking advantage of.

Wow, thanks for posting your stats and congrats on basically being awesome :) good luck in your decision!

Are there any other waitlisted applicants having trouble accessing the link for the waitlist form?

kjane,

You're right... It's no longer there!

Luckily, I printed it out and faxed it the first day I got the email.

if you want I can email it to you, I saved it. pm me if your interested.

Good thinking, jacknjill.

thanks.

On the other hand...it depends. Are you planning on staying on the waitlist? If so, I can not help you. :P jk
