UChicago RD Stats/Decisions Thread

that 70 seems REALLLLY HIGH...how many EA kids got accepted?

also, chicago seriously overenrolled this year for freshman, by like 100 kids...i am surprised they are even taking transfers this yr, most schools when that happens, cut off transfers significantly

Say it aint so :( We'll see.

bball: Are you going?

um...its a possibility, I AM WAITING FOR UPENN....that will be the deal breaker...if i find out my rejection, than i am booking a flight to chicago in the next week to visit

When is UPenn supposed to let you know?

idk...they aren't tellin me, until June 2....a lot of ppl have heard so far, like first wave, all acceptances, second wave, this morning, all rejections, idk what to think, and i have a columbia and duke waitlist as well to pursue

On the phone:
Me:"Hey Jerry it's xxxx, I just wanted to see if the committee had made a decision on my app yet?"
Jerry:"Well it looks like there still isn't a decision, let me walk this into them right now because they are meeting for the rest of the day. If they make a decision by the end of the day I will call you and let you know."

The agony continues.

I wouldnt get your hopes up, he promised that a lot but doesnt always deliver...

You mean like his thursday post:

I will speak to Andre' about any necessary extensions for those who are awaiting transfer evaluations and/or financial aid awards.

I'll post a message tomorrow regarding these extensions and how we'll handle them.

Ya I'm not holding my breath

So 70 rd people got accepted yesterday? Isn't that a bit high?

the fact that 70 were accepted yesterday really makes me believe that those who haven't received their decision yet aren't going to be offered a spot.

If that's the case, uh oh... I don't know why though because I got into Chicago for freshman admission and I also got into some ivies for transfer this year.

I just called and was accepted!

Congratulations!!!

Hey Guys,

Uncommon Accepted Blog Thread says that the EA deadline has also been extended to June 15th (under comments on the most recent post.)

Goodluck everyone!

Oh, Chimaera, there's hope for me yet! Thank you!

And, of course, congratulations.

I'm still waiting for Jerry to call me back. I'm on campus, but I don't want to catch a bus home until I hear from him, because I don't want to look like a crazy lady when I get news (good or bad).

Wooooooo!

The agony of deciding continues for an additional 15 days...

Thank you!! And best of luck to you, pip-pip and others. I hope the news is both good and swift. :)

pip-pip,

Just know that the chances of him calling back are almost 0. You'll probably have to call him.

I am really curious about what is going on in the admissions office. Assuming Jerry does not lie intentionally, what could possibly be going on that would make him so dead wrong in almost every announcement he makes?

Did anyone observe last years transfer admissions? Are they always late like this?
