@iluvpho If u dont mind what pre-req are you missing?

My guess either a econ class or a calculus class.

The other pre-reqs java+c++ isn’t too heavy but a calculus class is killer

I’m missing a calc course (econ pre req) and I got in. I don’t think one pre-req makes the difference between admit and reject,unless your major is labeled ‘impacted.’

@calitrumpet was it calc 3 or calc 1+2?

I got into UCSD but haven’t heard from UCI yet lol

@peter calc 3, I took calc 2 over the summer at UCSD actually

@polisci I haven’t heard from UCI either.

ya calc 3 is not essentially required for econ majors since iirc the Calc 3 class+ linear algebra take the place of a math for economist undergrad class. Which is only a 4 unit quarter class.

I have tag from UCI and no word from UCI yet =(

@poliscimajor same

@admitmejesus

missing the last 2/4 calc class and a computer science…: [

Anyone wanna chance me real quick? Really anxiously awaiting my Irvine decision :[

Major: Business Admin.
Alternate: Business Econ
Cum. GPA: 3.40
Strong essay and EC’s

However, I’m missing my Calculus 1A/1B prereqs (currently taking Calc 1A, taking 1B next quarter) for both majors. I also got a C+ in one of my prereqs (I explained under “Additional Comments”), which I know is going to be a huge killer…

I know Biz Admin is extremely competitive and probably a no go, but do I still have a shot at Business Econ?

hate to break this to you but probably 10% chance Business admin is only accepting 10 people and even then they said to be near 4.0 gpa when applying

Business econ you have a better shot though i don’t know if they consider for alternative major with a C in a pre-req.

You got a c in one of the two econ classes?

Yeah…Macroecon. It was my first quarter at a community college. I had done terribly in high school before, so it took me a while to “adjust”.

How do alternate majors work exactly? So if they reject your original major, do they then reconsider you for your alternate?

can some chance me for uci real quick also
Major: Business Admin (all pre req. done)
Alternate: Business Econ( just missing math/calc 4)
Cum. GPA: 3.43ish
pretty good essay

going to be honest unless you have a near 4.0 gpa you won’t get in for Business Admin 3.95+ atleast

Yep, Business Admin will maybe accept 30 people and expect to take 1/3 of those if that. The competition is unreal.

Enjoy Econ, I applied the same two majors and expect the same outcome.

peterr86 - i doubt the average acceptance GPA is 3.95 for transfers. i applied as business admin and my gpa is 3.85 and my counselor said im pretty much in.

[YouTube - UCtelevision’s Channel](http://www.youtube.com/user/UCtelevision#p/search/10/YGHu-FUZGS8)

18 minute ish is irvine i believe in this video he says to advice your C.C student to check out other majors and if they really want to get in for Business admin to have a near 4.0 gpa.

I don’t know what to tell ya .

They only have openings for 30 people add in the yield rate and your looking at maybe 60 admits how many will be 4.0 i would say atleast 3/4.

Irvine also released info on how they had a 2% acceptence rate for business admin for freshmen iirc

business admin is new at uci. space for that major is roughly 200 spots…my counselor who is the head coordinator of TAP at my college said that uci is only accepting round 15 transfers this year. u needa be creme de la creme to get in.

peterr86 - I am not doubting the degree of difficulty it takes to get into the biz admin program. But it seems to me it’s just your wishful thinking that they take that little people because you signed a Tag for another major. I know there’s a possibility I don’t get in, but you guys are speaking as if it’s there’s no chance if you don’t have a 4.0 gpa.

I went to the 17 minute mark and watched until the UCLA rep started talking. I heard nothing about the business admin major.

i’ll try and find the other video later it’s in another one i was kinda tired last night gimmie a few
