UCI admitted!! finally LOL..taking 28 units too

Okay so this morning I finally discovered that I was admitted into UCI...finally after so much waiting. UCSB is still pending and I will not see UCLA/CAL for a while.

I have received and email personally from both Berkeley and UCSB asking me for a Spring Grade update. I assume this is because I am taking 28 units right now! I responded to both saying that I am receiving an A or A+ in each class. I haven't received one B on any assignment or test yet! :) I hope that taking 28 units does not ruin my acceptance; obviously I can handle the work load. Still worried though....ughh :(

28…holy ****

Whoa! My school wouldn’t let me take 28 units! I’m taking only 19 right now. :wink: Good job at keeping up on all that work!

I can’t take 28 units or else my FA would unit cap me…><;; So I’m taking 19 as well! You should be proud, that’s intense homework! Best of luck and 'grats getting into UCI! [: We’re all waiting for Cal…xx;;

bmwbeemerz8, can you please explain how taking a crap load of classes could “ruin you acceptance?”

Are you worried that your grades might drop?

I’m taking 22, but I had to take a couple at another local ccc, to avoid running into financial aid problems.

i’m taking 25 units!!!( its kicking my a s s!) i did not get an e-mail from UCSB, is that a bad sign??? :frowning: :(

^
No it’s not, don’t worry. I’ve heard other UCs e-mailing applicants because they are borderline of having those 60 units by the end of Spring. Omg…that’s too much. @__@;;

wow, 28 units and putting yourself through a lot of work for a crap major

i’m borderline of having those 60 units that is why i’m taking 25 units! ugh

i do not understand why you can’t wait another year instead of letting that gpa possibly suffer, but if you can persevere then kudos to you

daymm thats crazy… i started this semester taking 29 freaking units…29!! then i got a job and it went down to 20…haha…

anybody knows the record?? ahha

I was told by a counselor at my CC that three classes I took at another institution would transfer, turns out that they probably won’t and I found this out months after I submitted my application and everything, so I just decided to add 3 extra classes to my load instead of wasting another WHOLE year.

counselors hmm

Exactly, counselors are the reason for all the s h i t and stress I’m going through this year, you guys wouldn’t believe some of the things they told me or the “advice” they gave me.

yeah…seriously…no one wants to spend another year in a community college…well at least i dont…

I am taking 28 units because I do not want to be in a CCC for one more year. I plan to go to law school immediately after my undergrad, therefore another year in school is too much.

And for those who ask why take so many units and possibly ruin my GPA? The answer is that I am not ruining my GPA at all. I have an A or an A+ in each class. The lowest test score I have recieved on a test was a 92/100. Most of my tests have been at 100/100.

UCSB still has “decision pending” listed as my current status. They are the ones who emailed me asking how I am doing in each class, what my current grades are, and the scores I received on each quiz, test, or exam. This is probably because I am taking 28 units and when I complete them I will have a total of 61 units. Basically, if I were to fail a class or drop one, I would not qualify for the 60 units. I have never dropped a class, I am still taking 28 units, and I still have all A’s, so no worries!! Berkeley was the first school to email me asking how I am doing in each class. I hope thats a good sign! They were most concerned with whether I was going to complete all 28 units and if I had any changes to report. Hope I get in! :slight_smile:

Any other questions? I will be glad to answer!

u have a lot of determination… thats awesome =) congrats!

Definitely! Just don’t plan on doing all full-blown units at the UCs! @__@;;

You should be very proud of yourself!

Counselors…haa.

Thank you guys…I appreciate it! I am going through so much right now with all these classes…I need all the support I can get! :slight_smile: LOL
