I know the appeal rates were about 8% in 2014 from MsSun’s UC Waitlist blog. Does anyone have the stats for the 2015 UC Waitlist Statistics?
45 out of 4500 which is 1%
Wait is that the percentage of people admitted from the waitlist, or appeal’s?

I’m a transfer applicant and am on the transfer thread. We are starting to get notices. Could you guys please share with me where on your portal it indicates you were rejected and or wait listed ? Like where should my eyes go when I log on to confirm I didn’t make it in ? Do they have a big pretty banner that says “wait listed!” … jk, I doubt that, but do they notify you via a message on the portal, an email, both, please let me know so I can pass the information along, thank you !
@BackNSchool83 they make it really obvious. Right as you sign on if you got waitlist it turns green. The far right box would say waitlist class so and so. I would know because I got waitlisted.

Hi so I opted to be on the UCI wait list right when I found out. On their portal they never gave me the opportunity to send in an appeal when I opted to be on the wait list so I’m finding out that I could have sent one after the 4/15 deadline already passed. Does not sending a letter of appeal greatly affect my chances of not getting accepted?
@gracefulfields can we still appeal after 4/15? If so, where did you get this information?
@drebomb oh sorry I was unclear. It was after the deadline had already passed when I found out I could send a letter of appeal. Since I missed the deadline I was just wondering if this hurt my chances of getting off the wait list?
@gracefulfields since you are on the waitlist, (if you said yes to the waitlist) you are already someone who is admissible if a spot opens up, even without an “appeal letter.” I think what is unclear is whether or not there is a ranking to the waiting list and whether or not sending an additional letter would change your number on the list. I believe the deadline for appeal letters was for the people who were rejected - there is an official process for that. But you are in a different category so it’s possible that you could still send an appeal letter referring to your waitlist status. I have no idea if they would accept the letter but you could try.

I’m appealing as a Business Administration major. I’ve already registered and submitted my deposit to another school, but I wanted to give UCI one last chance! Good luck to everyone though!
