UCI/LA School of Nursing Help

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if any of you knew the general statistics to the successful applicants of UCI School of Nursing, such as GPA, SAT score, if they took subject tests, AP scores, if they took AP bio/chem? I’d also appreciate any kind of advice that’s relevant to UCI/UCLA school of nursing…

I just want to know if my education/experience in healthcare is enough (I have several) and if my grades are good enough… I’m just not comfortable with posting my info.

Thanks,
class of 2018 highschool student

Here is the Freshman profile for UCI Nursing. I would assume that UCLA is at least comparable if not higher.

Admission into the UC Irvine School of Nursing is competitive and highly selective. The number of students in the major is small due to the limited availability of clinical placements.

Each year, the number of admitted students varies based on admission patterns from previous years. Due to the increasing number of applicants and selective nature of the program, it is strongly recommended that you research other nursing programs as well.

Fall 2017 freshman applicants: 2,540

Fall 2017 freshman admissions: 88 (3.5% admitted)

Average UC GPA: 4.25 GPA

Average total SAT score: 2040

Average total SAT score (new version): 1354

SAT/ACT scores
To remain competitive in the applicant pool, you should score a minimum of 550 in each of the three areas on the SAT test: critical reading, mathematics and writing, or score a 24 or higher on the ACT. Students who do not meet this minimum requirement will not be reviewed for admission into the Nursing Science program.

Hi @Gumbymom, thanks for this info. My D exceeds both stats for scores and GPA. Perhaps she will apply. Do you know if the 88 is the number that was accepted or is that the final enrollment count?

Admitted count.
