UCI or UCSD for Psychology?

Was offered a spot to both campuses for Psychology. Have the Post 9/11 GI Bill so tuition will be covered regardless of which campus I choose, plus a housing benefit. So the financial aspect isn’t a major factor.

For Psychology, which campus has the better options, opportunities, research, etc. I only have a few days left to decide which to SIR to.

As far as campus life, not really a big factor for me, veteran student, so I’m older than the typical college student - so fraternities aren’t really my thing. Would be great to have some sort of engagement with the campus, but not really important.

Any advice would be great.

I think UCSD will give you better research opportunities. It’s a leader in psychology, especially clinical psychology. There are dozens of psych research labs and four hospitals on campus which you could join. As a whole, San Diego has a huge veteran community and military presence and there’s a reasonably active Student Veterans Resource Center in the old student center complex.

Awesome! Thanks for your input, @DoctorP ,

The larger veteran presence in the area/on campus definitely is a factor I’m considering in terms of leaning more towards UCSD.
