UCI v. UCR

hey, give me your opinion on which one's better yeah?
i know, i know, UCI is significantly higher ranked, but i hear that their kids are rich and stuck up as opposed to UCR, and that they try too hard to be prestigious.. Apparently, UCR's professors are warm and personal... and kids more down to earth..(just what i heard from some alumni)..
no need to be rude, just your thoughts please :)

PS. i hear a selected few who have turned down UCLA and CAL for UCR, but haven't heard that from UCI..

I would chose UCI over UCR just because of the feel I get from the campus

I feel right at home at UCI when I’m there, there’s tons of stuff I love about it.

It ain’t perfect but ya know, after visiting both, UCI just fit in with me.

They have a beautiful campus, an In-N-0ut, variet, drama, nice location, etc.

thanks haikumarukuchan.
I guess I have to go visit UCI before further judgments… ive already seen UCR…
but hopefully i get the letter from LA! maybe both of us will get admitted :D

No UC is a hotbed of rich kids, in CA you’ll find many at Stanford, the Claremont colleges and some other privates, but this should not concern you at any UC.

All UC’s are at least 35% kids from low income families. Yes, Riverside has more than most, but any school with 35% of the population from low income families will not have a culture dominated by wealthy kids. So go to the one you like.

There’s an income chart here:

Yeah… UC is definitely not upper class… its actually a (relatively) fair socio-economic slice of California…

I wouldn’t jump to conclusions yet… UC Riverside has a variety of good programs that may interest some people.

thanks for the thoughts guys :)
