UCI vs UCD for biological sciences

I’m trying to decide between UCI and UCD for biological sciences. Last week I went to Davis’ Welcome Day and came away pretty impressed w/ their bio program and research opportunities. Then on Sunday I went to the UCI’s Welcome Day in Oakland and their overall presentation was outstanding as compared to the other campuses. They had deans from the different schools selling UCI as a great campus. The assistant dean from the biological sciences said that UCI teaches bio better than any of the other campuses, and that the students are better prepared for the MCAT’s and med school. Also there are tons of research and internship opportunities available starting the end of the freshman year. It’s hard to tell if they are as good as they say or if it was just a great sell job.

So, once again, what are the pros/cons of UCI and UCD in the biological sciences?? Any current or past UCI and UCD bio majors out there? Thanks.

<p>I'm interested in pre-med and have been trying to decide what UC campuses (UCR, UCD, UCI) will give me the best chance of getting into med school. Someone highly recommended UCR for undergrad because it will be the easiest campus to get a higher GPA. He's older and knows people who have attended UCR and are now in med school. He said that UCSD is really competitive and hard to get to the grades. Please give me some thoughts and advice on this. I got accepted to UCI, UCD, UCSB, UCR and Cal Poly SLO. I'm appealing UCSD - can you believe I missed the cutoff by 33 points. Thanks!!!!!!!</p>
