UCI vs UCSD

for what reason would u choose from the both. please feel free to add or subtract

UCI pro: good bio program, MBA program, close to the OC!

UCI con: too many asian, med school is not in Irvine

UCSD pro: large beautiful campus, close to Tijuana, 5 college system

UCSD con: nothign i can think of

which onis more prestigious in 10 years?

UCSD more prestigious in next 10 years. but UCI will be right up there.
UCI pro- LOTS OF ASIANS lol yay.

It's a 6 college system at UCSD, by the way. :)

I am transfering from uci to ucsd. Didn't like the uci social scene. Clubbing really isn't my bag. Engineering school is better at ucsd, better facilities.

At the moment uci has a lot of construction in the science department buildings, thus their facilities are kinda lacking at the current moment. Espcially didn't like the lower division chem labs.

UCI is in irvine. See: track housing, wide roads and strip malls.

Pros for each college (academics):

UCSD:
-Better Bio/Science
-Way better Econ
-Way better Engineering
-Easier GEs (most colleges, at least)
-Generally more research-based/doctorial
-Graduate MBA Program
-#32 in USNEWS Ranking

UCI:
-Business school
-Criminology major
-High ranked Dance major
-#1 Social Ecology college in America (Only, too, I believe?)
-#40 in USNEWS ranking

Oyama hit it for the most part. Add on that SD has an Economics Department (an excellent one at that) and it throws out any advantage Irvine would have with sending kids to Business school.
