UCI Waitlist Questions

Biological sciences

I’m also bio sci and haven’t heard back yet, hopefully we’ll both get in

comp sci here

Did anyone attempt to change their major while on the waitlist?

@moniiique‌ not me, don’t really know how to do that

i’m also curious if the admissions are by major…like engineering comes out, then science, then other majors.

I don’t think so. I saw 2 comp sci people get in 5 days apart

@steezyz I don’t think so either, I got in for biological sciences on Friday (5/2)

ahhh ok. and so the wait continues.

I “appealed” when I got waitlisted, so I basically emailed the admissions office that UCI is my first choice and if I get accepted, I will attend. I also updated them on my senior year grades and activities to show them my determination and dedication. Also list how you will contribute to the school. I was accepted off the waitlist 4/29/14. I contacted the admissions office and the way they accept people off the waitlist is that they just look over the applications again, so there is no priority list or anything. So, I only had two days to SIR and submit my housing. There HAS to be a 24-hour wait after your SIR to apply for housing, so I was really tight on time, but it was all worth it  I changed my major when I got in. Well, I hope this helped :D

@jty500 @steezyz Did you guys hear back yet?

@uvminhcire‌ not yet :(

have not heard back either

anyone heard back for the waitlist?

Everyone from my school who were on the wait list got in.

So for those still on the waitlist… What are your stats? 3.8 UC GPA. 2040 SAT here

@jty500‌ other than irvine, what school are you going to?

I committed to UCSC but hoping for UCI, hbu?

@jty500 i am planning on going to UCR if this doesnt work out, ehhhh i hate waiting but hopefully its worth it

Though this is old, read some of the comments. I certainly hope it’s true
