UCI Waitlist Thread

Got in for pre-chem. Now I have to take the awpe…

I got in off the waitlist computer engineering but I accepted Cal Poly SLO (love that school).

I got accepted off the waitlist as well! Already committed to Davis and have visited 3 times and loved it. Sorry Irvine.

Just got in for biological sciences; all this waiting has paid off!

for all those who got in, are you guys all freshmen?

yeah we are ( i think)

I’m guessing they admitted all the waitlisted students by now since it seems everyone got theirs today. So if we haven’t heard from them by now there’s no chance of getting off the waitlist :(? I still hope they are admitting students though.

called in, was told it was rolling admissions so we still have a chance. More are coming

i got in yesterday!

UC GPA (W):3.9
SAT: 2170

i think they are releasing decision from the freshmen waitlist… Most if not all transfers are still on the waitlist including myself.

I’m pretty certain all of you will get in, Irvine’s policy on waitlists for the past few years seems to either be 100 percent in or 0 percent, depending on how much space they have. As they’re around 1000 or so under for SIR’s for freshmen, and there’s around 3000 people who were offered the option of the waitlist (I have no idea how many asked to be put on the waitlist but realistically it’s going to be at least half of that), yup, basically everyone is gonna be offered a spot. If I’m wrong, sorry! But ya, best of luck to all of you  (I’m here hoping the transfer waitlist has similar luck lol.)

Yeah because the first acceptances were little due to overenrolling the past couple years, the students who applied to Irvine but also to, say, Berkeley or Davis or something, would be admitted there and choose that school over Irvine, thus the underenrollment and nearly everyone on the waitlist getting in.

Just my theory :)

Obviously that’s what happened. I’m perfectly okay with it though since it increases my chances of, you know, being able to go o:

they are still posting decisions right? cause im on the waitlist still witha 3.95 weighted and 2050 sat

I called admissions today to ask whether or not the under enrollment of freshmen helps transfer waitlist students at all (it doesn’t. Dammit.), and I mentioned to the lady that I know Irvine’s policy is either 100 percent of waitlist get in or none do, and she agreed and said yes, that is the policy. So, that means all you freshmen are going to get in  … Now I just hope they’re under for transfer SIR’s too! O:

Does anyone know when they will be releasing their decision for waitlisted transfers? And also does this 100% policy applies to waitlisted transfers as well?

We’ll hear back in June, earliest being around June 2nd, because June 1st is the deadline to submit SIR’s for transfer students, and that’s what the waitlist is based around. The 100 percent policy is also true for transfers- either 100 percent get in, or none do- BUT it’s dependent on how many transfer students give SIR’s. So if it’s under like it was for the freshmen, AWESOME. If it’s normal or over, ****. (I called them today to see if the low amount of freshmen helped us at all but apparently, nope.)

Got in from the waitlist! I’m excited as hell, now I need to cancel my SIR to UCR…hope everyone else gets in as well! From the looks of this it seems like its going to be 100% of the waitlist getting in :)

Thanks for the info SummonerLenne. This wait is going to be so agonizing, but hopefully we all will get the good news!

hey dil728 are you a transfer? if so what is your major and gpa?
