<p>@howareyoudoing: i dont think it would really make a difference if you appealed since you have a better chance of getting in being that your a waitlister rather than appeal the waitlist decision. plus technically you have not been denied or accepted so i dont even know if it would be possible for to appeal the decision because there really isnt one.</p>

<p>I talked to a UCI admission counselor the other day and he told me something a little different than what other people were telling me. Basically, you’re gonna start hearing about your admission status beginning to mid-May. However, this will not be the case for everyone. For some, they will not be given a response for a while. Some kids say okay to go to UCI, then say forget it in June/July. This leaves open space and if you might be given a reply then. Depending on where you stand after the counselors rereview your application, you may be hearing in May or even July.</p>

<p>I was accepted at UCI for a Psych major, and waitlisted at UC Davis for psychology. I’ve always wanted to go to UC Davis, though. If I were to find someone accepted at UCD for psych, but waitlisted at Irvine, would the office of undergraduate admissions allow us to switch?</p>
<p>I doubt that could happen. I’m sure there are others in your position and it wouldn’t be fair. I don’t think that admissions offices of UCI and UCD go hand in hand. Sorry to say.</p>

<p>^I am wondering that too. After seeing some of the other UC’s waitlist offer numbers like Davis’ crazy 5000 and SB’s more reasonable 1200, I’ve been kinda scared. I don’t see a reason for UCI to change the number of students they off to be on the waitlist if it worked so well last year with the 700 they offered. Then again I am on the waitlist anxiously waiting to be an official anteater. If not, off to UCSB for me haha.</p>
