I've noticed that there are posts about people getting placed into ucla housing. So who is doing off-campus apartments!? I am curious because I am looking around now and I am wondering if anyone else is hunting too?

I got a triple in sunset which is not even close to what I wanted. So, I decided to live off campus and within a week I found a 1 person studio for 800 a month with utilities included and parking. There is plenty still out there preleasing for fall. You may even be able to get summer apartments too! I suggest u do it if you are not happy with your offer. This is my personal f u to ucla housing.

I also got a triple/shared in Sunset which would of been my last choice for housing. I did want a roomate though so I answered one the ads on the Community House site, we met yesterday, really hit it off, loved the apartment (my own room & bath with parking, a kitchen and 24 hour security) and shuttle bus to campus right outside my door although I’m close enough I can walk too. There does seem to be a lot of options for off-campus housing right now (price ranges, areas, living situations) but I’m sure that will get harder the closer you get to school starting. I wanted to jump on it right away to get the best situation for me. Haha, this is also my personal f u to ucla housing. I didn’t want to take the chance with what kind of roomates they would stick me with either.

Word of advice to those looking for off-campus - make sure it includes parking. I drove around for 20 minutes trying to find a spot outside the apartment complex during the middle of the day. Would be a nighmare at night…

Still hunting. Im trying to find a place little away from the campus.

WOW! You got a amazing steal with your studio apartment! I just went to look at this private bedroom/shared bathroom for 710 with utilities included. It was wasn’t worth it cause it was small and no parking space! Like I am living in a small room already, but the no parking space was the killer. Are you close to campus or far? Gosh, jealous of your find.

Yeah, I haven’t really found anything that I have like so far but I am definitely looking. I know the later I wait, the fewer for choices and the higher for rent. It took me 10 minutes to finally find a space yesterday when I checked out this one place.

Lol. I didn’t even apply for on-campus housing. I LAUGHED when I got the emails that was alerting me about the looming deadline and all this. That was my personal f u to ucla housing

@itzcaroll I think i looked at the one you’re talking about! Its on veteran, so its a little further but still worth it to me. But yeah, I love the deal i got as well. Keep looking! I ■■■■■■■ craigslist all day to scoop this one up as soon as it was out there. Goodluck!

Nahh the one I went to look at was on wellworth and midvale… the building was really nice and it was a block away from wilshire. I have been ■■■■■■■■ through craigslist everyday to scoop my good steal :)
