Thanks! Whoops, I’m in-state.
There were a little more than 110,000 freshman applicants, about 5% are waitlisted, and ultimately 200-400 get off. So about 4% to 11% of us will get accepted…which is quite depressing But still, hold onto hope you guys! It’s not over til we get rejected!
I’m not feeling too optimistic since I applied to the engineering school under aerospace engineering (7% acceptance rate for this major), plus another girl from my school has committed to UCLA and they usually don’t accept more than 1 kid a year from my school.
These are my stats:
Female, OOS, white, bilingual
aerospace engineering major
4.7 W GPA
1550 SAT
Extracurriculars: National Honors Society, lots of work experience at 4 different jobs including a manger position, Student Congress, run online store, volunteer at dog shelter, modeling, Lithuanian Saturday school (sadly no engineering-related ECs, which I think weakened my application)
I’m hoping the fact that I’m an out-of-state female helps, since OOS students = more money for the school, and only 26% of the engineering school is female (only 20% female for my major). We’ll see!!! Good luck everyone
are they done with OOS offers?
Admitted off the waitlist this morning at 8:37! I am in state and majoring is business Econ
But that being said, I really hope we all have positive outcomes
I got off this morning for English at Letters and Science. Good luck to everyone else waiting!! I hope you guys receive the good news!
Hello, trying to turn my excitement down for this post!
I got off the waitlist this morning and here are my stats:
In-State and for L&S
W GPA: 4.42
SAT: 1450
Solid amount of extracurriculars
I was a former top 11 Hearthstone Player in Americas and it was prevalent in my essays and I talked about why I wanted to go to UCLA in my waitlist one. (no grades posted)
Any engineering acceptances today?
kms
@plzzzadmitme same
@jillster UCLA does not admit by school, so just because someone else already got in doesn’t mean that they won’t take another person from the same school.
Please give your scores, if you don’t mind
socallocal3 Please give your scores, if you don't mind
Congrats! Hopefully I also get a chance~
So I just found out that the waitlist option is only given to like 5% of students lol I thought anyone could just choose to be waitlisted. Well, I am SO confused about how I ended up on the waitlist because you are all so smart.
UC GPA: 4.13
SAT: 1010
Major: Economics and Accounting
I live in South Los Angeles and I do lots of volunteer work with the homeless along with community clean-ups. Along with this I have done 3 sports all 4 years and have been varsity/MVP/Captain for every sport I have done and I only really took 5 AP’s all 4 years of high school. Another thing I did at school was ASB all 4 years where I’ve done countless events. I am apart of 3 committees such as school safety, positive intervention, and school site council all 4 years of school. The thing that probably helped me was that I had a paid internship with UCLA that was a community-based learning project and I’ve also done lots of other programs to help foster youth, gang youth and other minorities that are on my campus. There’s probably a few things I didn’t mention because I can’t think of them but that’s off the top of my head what I’ve done.
Honestly, I doubt I’ll get in but since I have horrible grades and bad SAT I’m just happy I even made it into the waitlist. I wish you smart people the best of luck and I will be mad if I get in because I don’t even want to go to UCLA and I just chose to waitlist because I thought anyone could do it.
Dude, I literally have a 1010 SAT lol if it admitted off the waitlist it’ll be a miracle I didn’t do the optional essay either.
Dude,
You are SC material through and through…
@alicantekid just for a conspiracy theory, most people declined UCLA’s offer at my school and then 3 of us were accepted off the waitlist on the same day
@Fernany123 yooo im from south central LA as well i have way less EC’s than you but i do have a decent amount considering my school is very small and not too many opportunities and I only got a 1210 on my sat and i had a 4.01 gpa its honestly crazy were in the same boat, not to mention my close friend got accepted in March with lower stats than me?
Im undeclared tho but im praying to get in, all the best to you as well and everyone else
