UCLA + 40K in debt vs. UCSD and Debt-free

Im looking at Computer Science/Computer Engineering at both places and am still deciding where to attend. I love both schools, but still dunno where to go.

Im saving some ca$h if I go to SD, but I wanted to go to LA as a kid....where do you think I belong?

UCSD is slightly above UCLA, but the small difference won’t really matter. Just consider if the prospect of going to your dream school worth 40k

Thats the thing…do you think its worth all that much? I love both schools, so I dont think I can go wrong either way.

$40K for all four years? Are you a Regents scholar at UCSD?

Well $40k isn’t really that enticing for four years; but if you’re split between the two given that they were the same price, go to SD. Only go to LA if you really know you want to come here. $40k is $40k.

For the most part, I would say, unless you absolutely-must-will-have-heart-broken if you don’t go to LA, you should probably go to SD. $40k is a lot of money to get yourself in debt / to pay for. That’s around you working for 1 year after you graduate (assuming you make $40k and put all that money to pay off your debt).

For the most part, everyone’s saying: Do you think $40k is worth it? (The general consensus seems to be no.)

But you also dont want to be a person going to SD all upset that you had to choose it because of money. Being upset for 4 years isnt worth it, IMO.

I would go to SD

^I am :)

I’m officially a Triton…sorry Bruins.

No, thank you for not becoming a Bruin.

Thank God you’re not one of us.

Lol, Kidding.

I thought you made the right decision. Good Luck.

what was the point of this thread ? :)
