I have been hearing from friends that people have been receiving an invitation to apply for the alumni scholarship at UCLA. I have read that it boosts your chances of getting in, but I wanted to know if that means that I probably would not get in. I have a 4.27 weighted UC GPA and a 35 on the ACT. I have read that people with lower statistics have gotten the invitation but I am worried that I have not yet received any notifications.
Additionally, does any other UC do the same thing for alumni scholarship?
The invitation has a correlation of about 60% of getting in. Actually applying has no bearing on acceptance. The invite emails are given to what are usually the top 20% of a typical admit class. Hope that helps.
@gzza73 You misread my comments. It’s given to students who are typically found in the top 20% of admits. It does not mean getting one means you’re in the top 20% of UCLA’s admitted class. That’s why there’s a correlation of getting the email and getting in. That is all This topic is getting blown way out of proportion.
