Hello Everyone,
I just received an email regarding a UCLA Alumni Scholarship. (I believe admission decisions come out on Friday, March 17).
I know I am not eligible to receive a scholarship due to my family’s income, but I just wanted to know if the email means my chances of getting in are higher or not. (Or just what the email means).
Thanks.
Did you apply to the scholarship? Did you get it? What does the email say?
@SimplyGreat hey, I got that email, but i got in in Feb. It was due at the end of last month. But basically, they send applicants with competitive scores over to the alumni scholarship organization. So, yes, you have an increased chance of getting in. some say up to an 80% chance of acceptance, but most say 50. (just know its more than 18, haha)
@daisieswhatever congrats!! Good luck, decisions come out tomorrow and I’m freaking out!! haha
@SimplyGreat Hey good luck to you too! If we both get in we should freak out over it together,
@daisieswhatever ikr!! I would cry… I got in to Brown and Columbia already, but I just felt different when I saw UCLA. It has been my dream to go there!!
@SimplyGreat at this point if you DIDNT get in i would be surprised. I have the stats according to the website but I’m now super nervous because everyone’s scores on cc are just through the roof! We’ll see though. What major did you apply as?
You’ll most likely be fine as long as you have a 4.2+ weighted GPA and 32+ ACT/1350+ SAT. (Along with great EC’s too!!). I applied as a biology major to the College of Letters and Sciences!! How about you?
P.S. I’m praying for you!! Haha
@SimplyGreat I applied as a Comparative Literature Major! Yes My scores all fairly high, and I WAS ADMITTED!!! HOW ABOUT YOU?? TELL ME YOU GOT IT
The alumni scholarship email theory is a bunch of baloney. Got the email and did not get in… waitlisted.
S received alum scholarship email invite and applied - Admitted. Does anyone know when he will hear if he received a scholarship interview? The website says interviews are April 1-2 which seems short notice given admittance decision release date.
I got email to have interview for Alum scholarship. What % of possibility do I get in, and how much do they give ?
