Nothing here

In the C/O 2018 Facebook group, a girl said that her mom is a part of the alumni association and “reviewed applications and she was told if you got interview they would’ve told you yesterday (4/2).” She also said that “they might’ve fallen behind in reading through all the applications but that’s what she was told last week”

Well. This sucks.

I like how we’re referencing the FB group, and they’re referencing us.
Anyway, I don’t think they emailed anyone yet so just wait.

Update: A girl in Michigan received a call to set up her interview. Apparently they have up until the 9th to contact everyone

I got an email

I talked with someone at the office who told me that students are still being contacted, and the regional interviews are not exclusively April 5 and 6, but will extend through next week. He said that the volunteer coordinator will, most likely, contact the student via email and will set up the interview. So there is still hope!

Well guess what folks, I just got my invite.

Aaah, sorry I’m a transfer. ._.

Does anyone know when (or if) we’re suppose to be contacted about the next “phase” of the process?

The Alumni Scholarship page says that the National Finals Competition is the weekend of April 26th & 27th but do you strictly have to qualify to that to win any amount of the scholarship at all? :-/

I’m not sure what stage they are at currently but usually there is interviews in your city, then region, then the “state”/“National” finals. If you make it to the regional round, you win a $4000 scholarship. If you make it to National finals you win at least a $6000 scholarship. Or at least that’s how it was in previous years. So no you don’t have to make it to the finals to win a scholarship!

Are they inviting less people in for interviews or something? From CC, the facebook group, and people I know combined, I’ve only heard of ~8 people being contacted…

@narcissist … To add a data point for your analysis, I’ll offer what I can - which is not much … My daughter was contacted by an alum volunteer via email on April 4th. Her interview was scheduled within the week. Her interview consisted of a 3-person board and lasted about 30 minutes. As others have attested to, the questions were very unique, ones for which you cannot prepare for and reveal a lot about who you are and likely how you perform under pressure . She found the experience enjoyable . It has now been approximately a week since her interview, and she has not yet heard back regarding outcome.
